Hi again people,

Sorry to kep bothering you but I keep thinking of questions...

There are only two of us going this time and before I've always had my mum who doesn't do rides to hold bags and camera bags etc....

But what am I gonna do this time round now I'm all grown up and paying for myself!?!?!

We will wanna do all the rides etc but I'm a fanatic about taking video film and pictures, what do I do with the bag whileon rides and wet rides? Or can you take them on the big roller coasters etc!?!?

Arrrghhhhh another dilema by Lorna x

There are lockers, but if you are going on the more extreme rides, you will either have to deposit them first, or pop them in a basket in front of you seat on the ride. There are waterproof(ish) places for cameras etc. on the water rides. Universal seemed keener on lockers than Disney.

I think on almost every ride we went on, I had my camera, and just had it on my shoulder, so nothing to worry about.

Ahhh okay - so should be alright on the rides with a bag containing video camera and digital camera.... was just a bit worried!! Suppose really you are never sure until you try!

I normally take my camera bag on the rides with me apart from the water rides.

As long as your bag is not HUGE, you should be able to take it on almost all rides. There'll be enough room on your lap, over your shoulder, on the floor or in netting by your legs. An exception is the Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios where there was a sign saying "no carry on bags" and there were lockers near the entrance for your stuff (they are free for up to 2 hours). There might be a few other rides, but most of them you should be able to hang on to your bag without any trouble. If you are particularly worried about a bag getting wet, you could pack a plastic bag and put your bag/item in the plastic bag before you get on the ride.

Cheers,

Suppose am more worried about the big rides - eg The ROLLERCOASTERS!!!

The wet ones I will do like you said - make sure both cameras are in a camera bag and then in a plastic bag and then in the everyday bag which I think will be either a small small small back pack or like a Nike sling bag (gym bag style)

Ohhh FLORIDA here I come!!!

Am looking forward to the mummy and the dueling dragons..Haven't been to IOA they were building it last time I went. I remeber the billboard that was up with the saying

"Please excuse our Stardust, why we build our Universe"

It's silly little things like that, the memorible magical extra's that make Florida such a wonderful place to visit!!! (And that was 6yrs ago but yet it's still so vivid in my mind - yet so pointless)

;o)

Coaster info:

Disney:

Space Mountain - you can take a small bag on

RnR - you probably could take a small bag on. Otherwise there are lockers at the park entrance.

AK - sorry not been since Primeval Whirl opened

IOA:

Hulk: free lockers (for 2 hours) activated by your fingerprint near ride entrance.

Dueling Dragons: as Hulk

Sea World:

Kraken: free lockers near entrance to ride. Not sure how they worked.

We were able to take cameras/small bags on all the Disney rides, including Primeval Whirl. We were the first on PW one morning and rode the ride three times, without getting off (felt really dizzy after!)

The lockers at Kracken and Atlantis are charged. The lockers at Universal for the Mummy and MIB are free.

Primeval Whirl should not be a problem at AK. At Universal it's only the first two hours that are free for the lockers.

As am there for three weeks, will maybe have to have a day for photos and a day for rides.... if not as my parents are over for a week try and convince them to come to IOA so my mum can hold my bag for olds times sake! lol

A word of warning about the mummy ride, the first time we went on, the lockers were out of order but we were told not to worry because the cm's would collect the bags and look after them while we rode, so I innocently put my handbag into the plastic box as I got on the ride! When we got off I was looking for a cm to get my bag back, and as we walked out my DD said there's the bags on the floor over there! Yes there was my handbag which I found eventually, the plastic boxes were just dumped on the floor, and it was an unsupervised free for all scrum to get your belongings back!! I would never have handed my bag over if I'd known.

I would carry passports and cash in a bum bag which you won't have to remove
