Hello Larry,

We went on Tower of Terror in 2002, we then went back on it last Easter. It is different, although better. It has many more drops than previously experienced and lasts a lot longer. You won't be dissapointed as it is so much better.

Hi Larry,
without giving away too much which would spoil the surprises :D

1. They have removed the Metal Lap bars and replaced them with a lap belt, so you can no longer hold onto the bar in front of you.
Don't worry, if you do still need to hold on there are handles at the side of the seats.

2. They have added several random drop sequences. Sometimes you'll drop all the way then go back up, sometimes you'll get several small drops then a large one, sometimes it'll go up instead of down, one sequence drops you all the way then shoots all the way up then drops all the way down again without stopping :D
There are a few different sequences even one with a false ending, you think it's all over - but then surprise - it's not :D

It is so much better than before. The drop sequence is random, therefore unpredictable. Not knowing what is going to happen adds to the fun and suspense. I miss it already - weve been on 22 times in 3 visits - now that is a serious addiction.

We loved this ride it was my favourite. The first time we rode everyone else in our lift was screaming and us 6 were all sat there thinking what the heck is going to happen, Awesome.

I cant wait to go on the Tower again, its the BEST ride (in my opion) :D . Its been a while since my last trip in 2001 so hopefully it should feel different and exciting with the changes, not sure about the seat belt idea though, nothing concrete to hold onto.

I really miss not having the bar. It used to come down across the legs of everyone in the row, so it only went as low as the person with the longest legs! The first time I rode the ToT, I sat next to a huge guy (I'm only 5'6") and the bar was a good five or six inches above my legs!!! I thought I was going to die when I came out of my seat as the lift dropped first time, but on the second drop I actually enjoyed the freefall and was hooked thereafter!! OK, so I'm weird!

The new seat belts now keep you firmly in contact with the seat - shame!!

Anyone else miss the bar (and the marvellous creaky noise it made as it came down)?

We went on the one at Disneyland california which only opened earlier this year and I loved it, went on loads of times during our month out there, sometimes 3 or 4 times a day and never got tired of it.
They have seatbelts not a bar and it goes up and down a few times before a big drop at the end.
I'm having withdrawal symptoms since getting home!!!
