Hi
Am going to Kissimmee in Nov with 4 grandchildren - 2 of whom are vegetarians. Can anyone suggest good, reasonably priiced eating places with good choices of food for all the children?
Thanks :D

Most of the buffets do have items for veggies. Also look at the menus here (http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm) In the parks there's not a huge choice but it's getting better. There's also sweet tomatoes (http://www.sweettomatoes.com/Locations/store.asp?store_id=72) which has a great selection for everyone.

I'm not a vegetarian but am VERY fussy about what meat I do eat (chicken if anything). We went to lots of different eating places in Florida from Golden Corral to 1900 Park fayre and I always found something vegetarian to eat. Infact, alot better than the UK!

My DS 10 is a veggie and most restaurants catered for him on their normal menu. He does like his veg so loved the Cracker Barrel :)

Thanks for taking time to reply. I like the sound of sweet tomatoes but a bit far from us at Rolling Hills. However I'll ggive it a try when I'm in that area. Been to Golden Corral a few years ago and didn't like it but, again, I'll give it a try to see if it's changed because a lot of people seem to think it's good now. Cracker Barrel sounds like it could be the best bet for convenience. Thanks again

I am vegetarian, and although americans are huge meat eaters, I have found that I can find something on the menu's to eat. Places like TGI Fridays do garden burgars (veggie) or wraps with stir-fried vegetables. Bennigans do lovely baked potatoes with sour cream filling. Hoolihans do a dish called 'shrooms', which are gigantic mushrooms filled with garlic cream cheese, this is a starter but fills a dinner plate, so beware. I have found the most difficult places are steak houses which are obviously meat orientated. The only thing I have found to eat in these places are mozerello sticks. So I would steer clear of obvious steak houses.

I also sometimes just have a mixture of starters for instance broccolli and cheese soup with crackers, followed by garlic mushrooms with a baked potato on the side. Chinese restaurants always have vegetarian food, especially cantonese. I don't think you will have to much difficulty. Hope you all have a good holiday.

I too am vegetarian, we go to I-Hop for breakfast, we go to TGI Fridays, pizza hut,Pagda gardens (chinese) on 192, Cosmic Ray's in Disney world does nice veggie burgers, an outside burger stall on the way down to Tower of Terror does nice veggie burger's in MGM, also burger king are advertising on there website that they now sell veggie burger's, I find mainly veggie burger's but at least it's catching on, the first few years we started going I lived on fries and pizza, also Mc donald's say on there website ask for a meat less burger, so you can have a cheese sandwich. We also go to publix and buy fruit salad and bread and make something. I manage myself it does get a little boring, but then I come home and don't eat junk food again for ages as I've had enought.

Have a great time

If you don't see a lot of options on a menu ask your server if they offer a Vegetarian menu. A lot of times they will either have a special of the day or a seperate menu for 'lite eaters' or vegetarians.

I am also veggie and I must admit I have never had a problem in orlando.

Like FLGirl-UKNow said, just ask your server about veggie options.

We were in bahama breeze last year and I fancied quesadillas but the ones on the menu had chicken in them. When I asked the server they said it would be no problem to leave the chicken out and they offered to put onions, peppers and mushrooms in them instead.

I am a very and am going to go the other way and say that I struggled, yes I found things to eat but I was bored of having to eat the one thing available to me. Also I eat loads of chips at home but I did get bored of them over there. Im quite fussy, I dont like mushrooms, peppers and the other things that people tend to thing Veggies live on so that didnt help.

I liked places like Ponderosa as I could eat a bit of everything.

Also rememeber that Americans tend to put meat in food that we wouldnt at home so even when ordering a cheese salad make sure it doesnt come with bacon bits on top !
