View Full Version : Wyndham by Request
1st disney trip ever in 18 days time (getting REALLY excited, especially since tickets arrived on Sat) ...
Have booked Wyndham on I-Drive ("package" deal) & v. worried after reading loads of negative reports re: rooms - although the grounds & location seem to be just what we want.
Can anyone tell me how "Wyndham by request" works please? as it seems that "By request" members get the good rooms!
Have checked the website but it's not v. clear if I can use the membership to my advantage on existing package booking. If I join now do I just email the hotel in advance with member no?? (If so, does anyone know the Wyndham's email address please)???
If you can help, I'd be ETERNALLY grateful!!!
thanx ever so xx
Juaan,
To be honest with you, the Wyndham by request didnt change much for us. Apparently you can look into fine details like the pillows and even have drinks waiting for you when you arrive.
Well i dont want to upset you, but we didnt get any of this. I called reception after looking for the 2 bottles of corona and M+Ms i ordered and they said they would send someone.
However they never arrived. To be honest i wasnt all that bothered cause the room was ok anyway. I just went to the bar and sanks some cold ones!
The only thing that worked for us on Wyndham by request was when we was signing in. We got to jump the que. Any more questions about this hotel let me know??
Hi.
We got a terrible room at the Wyndham last October. Because we were By Request members we should have got a better room if there was one available. When we mentioned this when Dh phoned through to reception they did upgrade us to a bigger room. Though we had a room that size when we had stayed the two previous times at the Wyndham and weren't by request members then. The Wyndham has gone downhill in my opinion.
Sounds like I wouldn't be any better off as a member then, thanx anyway!
Anyone know which other hotels on I-Drive can be booked through Unijet in case rooms really are THAT desperate I need to change hotel??!! (hopefully this WONT happen but don't intend to stay in a crappy room for 3 wks, so just in case .....)
xx
I think that they have some nicer rooms there, the grounds are impressive. Just be prepared to complain if need be, there are better rooms for you to be in if you end up in a manky one. They have over 1000 rooms, so it's a pick and mix of good and bad. Twice we had good rooms, then we had two not so good (the one we were allocated and the one we were changed to). The Wyndham isn't a cheap hotel (well to book through a UK tour op it isn't, Americans seem to get it through Priceline for $35 per room per night!), therefore if you aren't happy voice your opinions :)
And enjoy your holiday :D :D You won't be in the room too much, but it is nice to chill out with some TV and a takeaway once or twice when you are all parked out :)
