Anybody stayed at Harbor lights in Islamorada

Hi all,
Alyson and I are going on our road trip soon and this includes 3 nights in the Florida Keys. We've been looking into staying at The Harbor Lights Motel on Islamorada as the reviews and correspondence we've had with them has been very good.
Has anybody stayed here before and if so, how did they find the place and do they know if it is far to go for a meal at night or would it mean a long drive?
Any views would be gratefully appreciated.

I should imagine it is lovely...especially if you like the sea and nature
Sorry i have never stayed there...but would like to give it a try

We have driven down and thru all the keys several times...and apart form Key West, we found all to be based around enjoying the water for fishing, snorkelling, glass bottom boat trips..and very laid back on the whole
it semed to us like one long road all the way down..and we stopped on Islamorada for breakfast...it is one of the larger keys
we asked the lady if ther was a town and she said ...no
most of the keys all the way down are just sea, beach and marinas
So I would not expect a buzzy atmosphere and just local simple eateries
Like to know how you get on.....

Hi,
Haven't stayed at the place you mentioned but during our road trip last September we had a few nights at the Hampton Inn on Islamorada, it was great. The staff were wonderful, hot buffet breakfast in the morning, an Outback steakhouse attached to the hotel, great pool bar and the 2 bed condo was lovely. If we ever went down to the Key's we would stay here again.

Not sure what Harbour Lights is like (we stopped at the days inn which was good)

I can recomend Bentley raw bar to eat, its possibly the best place Ive ever eaten.Look out for the green building on the left hand side going towards the keys. It doesnt look much but once you are in there the food and ambience is gorgeous :)
