The Magic of Disney Animation in Disney-MGM Studios will unveil its latest changes during an Annual Passholder Preview from noon until 6 p.m. October 15-17. The revamped attraction will include: a new Animation Station with interactive exhibits and new Meet & Greets with characters from the latest animated films, like the upcoming "The Incredibles." Previous attraction elements, the Drawn to Animation video (featuring Mulan's dragon, Mushu) and the Animation Academy (in which you learn to draw a Disney character), remain. The preview is only for Annual Passholders, who must present their valid Passholder I.D. to attend.
Stormalong Bay, the Yacht and Beach Club pool, has been undergoing some repainting and refurbishing over the last few weeks. Beginning November 1, even more work will be done on the rockwork. This phase of the rehab, which shouldn't interfere significantly with the pool operations, will be suspended November 22-29, for the Thanksgiving holiday, then will resume until December 22. Starting January 3, however, the main pool slide will temporarily close while work is done in that area. The work is expected to be finished by February 25.
New speakers with enhanced sound quality will soon be installed around WDW. The speakers currently in use tend to degrade quickly due to weather conditions, bugs and insects. The new speakers are sealed to prevent the interior from being affected. These speakers will produce better sound quality and last longer. Because of the high rate of failure, areas often lose background music and go without for periods of time. The new speakers will improve the sounds you hear in the parks.
The Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure in the Disney-MGM Studios is closed until further notice due to the effects of the recent hurricanes.
