we are just back and found a lot of beaches closed due to the recent hurricane damage.... I`d look more closely when your due to go, but most are now open

Gulf Coast beaches will be warmer than the Atlantic ones ie Daytona can be very windy and chilly in the winter months.St Petes Beach is nice ,try the beach at Johns Pass also along with Madeira beach. All are 2 hours approx from the Disney area, enjoy
the magic of Xmas in the land of dreams

Ft. DeSoto Park has campgrounds, hookups, nature trails and over 3 miles of beaches. Near St. Pete Beach. The camping facilities tend to fill up quickly, advance reservations are a must.

Tammy, have you tried Kampground of America?

Gives you details and directions for campgrounds in any state you choose (they are everywhere!)
