Can anyone tell me if Fantasy of Flight is worth a visit?
Thanks

I took my lads about five years ago. I enjoyed myself but felt it was expensive at the time. They have some beautiful aircraft, though. Especially the Short Sunderland!!!!

Also, if you scroll to the bottom of this page you'll see some other threads about it.

We went last Easter with our 5 year old daughter and really enjoyed it. It's not a full day jaunt (if styaong in Orlando) and it was a lot quieter than the parks which made for a nice break. There were lots of planes to see and some you could sit in and wander through. They also had a mock up of a WWII bomber which was good fun. The diner served lovely snack lunches and you could have a bi-plane ride but with a pilot named Waldo I felt it may be just a bit too much of a risk and didn't want to end up doing any acrobatics! Don't remember it being too expensive but couldn't say for certain how much it cost. You will find money off admission coupons in all the Orlando books.

I read somewhere that Fantasy Of Flight is actually owned by an Englishman.
Must say ,its one of those places that we always promise to go to but have never got to yet.
Suzies brother helps to look after a B17 bomber [SallyB] kept at Duxford, and has promised to get some pics of the one at F.O.F for the last 4 years.

Mmmmmm.................now where can I fit that on my itinery.lol

Really enjoyed Fantasy of Flight. Took the biplane ride in a 1929 New Standard. It was the only open cockpit airplane that could take up 4 people. Our whole family went flying. They gave us cloth helmets, goggles and flying scarf. I felt like the red barron. Nice people................loved Waldo.......that was the pilots name. I think that the price was reasonable.....$58.00 per person to go up in a restored ariplane. The ride was not scary.........also my Uncle took a ride in a WWII airplane and they let him take the controls. Always dreamed of taking control of an airplane. The restaurant was grand.

Viewed Fantasy of flight from the air, it looked good and I heard good reports about it, I had a Flight in A T6 from warbird adventures just down the road in Kissimmee great fun, a bunch of real enthusiasts.

We visited Fansasy of Flight this October (2004)....its fantastic. For anyone remotely interested in flight it is a must visit attraction. For anyone not interested in flight it still offers a lot of interest. Lovely restuarant set up in a thirties style where they serve very high quality food at very reasonable prices.

Its owned by an American called Kermit weeks. He flies one of his pride and joy for the crowd every day of the year. He jumped into a Curtis P40 warhawk the day we were there....fabulous.

They even do a back lot tour and a resteration tour (free) every day where they take you behind the scenes and let you have a look in all their hangers at their vast collections. They have one wharehouse solely dedicated to storing spare aircraft engines. I have never seen so many V12 engines in one place before.

We were so impressed we have built links to their web site from our villa web site have al look .... its behind the links button.
