IMHO Old Town is starting to look a little run down, especially noticable if you're there during the day.

That said its still quite an enjoyable evening and yes the car rally still takes place.

The Car cruise is on Friday and Saturday nights, and there is also a bike cruise every Thursday night.

Yes they still have the car cruise on a Saturday night, but you need to get there early to get parked. We did not get there early and followed Old Town signs for parking, where we ended up on Holiday Trail. We then had to drive down a dirt track, which had some very large puddles in it. I warned DH, who was driving, that we did not know how deep the puddles were. After driving through the first two, he tried to drive around the edge of the third. Disaster! We went driver side down in to a great hole and were well and truly stuck. Whilst waiting for a tow truck to come and drag us out, we did get a quick look at Old Town and it looked just about the same to me. There was a great party atmosphere, with a live band and bars set up around the area. We wished we could have stayed longer but we had to go and meet the tow truck. When we were towed out, we watched somebody else drive straight in to our mud pit and they were well and truly stuck as well.

We think the Oldtown has gone downhill, we didn't go this year. Used to love it but don't bother anymore.
Anyone been on that sky scraper thing?

I couldnt possibly go to Kissimmee and NOT go to the Sat Night Cruise.I absolutely adore all that lovely classic Yank tin.

One problem I do have though,is trying to get Suzie and the girls out of the shops.

This year instead of parking at Old Town we parked across the road at Denny's or outside one of the shops. It was easier than trying to get a place at Old Town later on at night and probably closer than some of the places they send you to.

I have to say that I really don't like Oldtown - I have seen some VERY dubious things going on there - strange car park exchanges...and we noticed a lot of people were 'carrying'. Not a place I wanted to linger after dark and pretty tacky during the day.

I won't go back.

Weve been to Old Town no less than 25 times, always in the dark[ November],and feel a damn sight safer than I would walking round Rochdale, even in daylight.
Only person weve seen with a gun is the local sherriff.Lets face it,99.9% of the people there are holidaymakers.

Old Town is getting to be just that. Used to be good but don't waste your time

Got to agree that Old Town has gone down the pan. Traditionally we always spent a little time walking about looking in the shops but recently, like someone said, there are more dodgy characters than usual and most of them are Americans.
