Just returned from 10 days at Hilton Head (DVC resort) and I can't say enough good things about the place. The island was lovely in a very laid back sort of way. Lots of golfers and older people around but there were families too. The beach is great although we were too frightened of sharks to swim! We hired bikes and cycled along the beach for miles. Plenty of shops and restaurants. The hotel has lots of activities for kids and none of us felt we missed the parks on this occasion. Visited Charleston and Savannah which were beautiful (esp. Charleston). I would certainly recommend this place to someone looking to try somewhere other than Orlando but maintain the Disney connection.
