Pat, if you mean Hampton Inn Maingate West we are stopping there in a few weeks. I'll let you know what it's like when we get back. It has better reviews than the hotel we were booked into previously:jump: :jump:

Dizzy,

We got back today after 2 weeks at Hampton Inn Maingate West and must say that it was great and couldnt fault it at all.

The only thing that you need to be aware of is that if you have booked with Virgin then you will find yourself on the 5th floor which happens to be the level that all rooms are smoking rooms. After 2 days and lots of whinging they moved us to the 4th floor and it was great.

Any other questions dont hesitate to ask.

Hi Davey, glad you had a good time and it is good to finally find somebody who has stopped there and get a good report. Thanks. Did you ask for a no smoking room when you booked, we did so I hope they honour it. I am a smoker but have fixed a stop day for Friday, for lots of reasons but partly because I refuse to spend my precious park time looking for somewhere to fulfil the disgusting need for the weed:blush: If we get put in a smoking room I will scream:angry:

Hi Dizzy,

Yes we did ask for a non smoking room when we booked back in May 2003 and it said on the invoice "if available" having looked at the hotels website I saw that they were available so I thought we would be ok. But I guess that when the Virgin List got to the hotel that was all that was available so thats what we got.

Basically if the hotel is full then there is not much you can do but if not then it wont be a problem.

To be honest we spoke to the Virgin rep and she said that if we couldnt get a non smoking room then we could switch to another hotel but we really liked it there and luckilly that night we switched rooms and enjoyed the rest of our stay.

Some good things are the breakfast (mind you it did get a bit boring after 2 weeks but i think anywhere would). Rooms are spotlessly clean. Pool was nice if a bit chilly in the evenings. Transportation to the parks was available but not that frequent and the times were a bit odd, so we hired a car.

All in all im sure you will have a great time as we did. Anything else you need to know just ask.
