Hi

Hope this is the right area.

We are looking at booking a 6 night stay in NYC followed by 8 nights in Sanibel at the resort & spa. Place looks lovely itself, but wondered if there is much to do around Sanibel etc?

Done a search and not found too much, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Paul

We dropped in a few years back for a 'look see'.

Was very nice - looked very tranquil.

Sanibel is pretty relaxed - not exactly bustling with activity.

the sanibel harbour resort is lovely ,stayedthere for a wekk in 2003 its currently closed due to hurricane charley damaged due to open again feb 2005 ,the rooms arel ovely ,staff very friendly and thespa is womderful. a trip to the eddison estate is worthwhile, you can also take a boat from fort myers to the bahamas .its not a bustling place ,in fact the resort is all on its own but sure youll find plenty to keep you occupied

Thanks. Going to book.

One more question, where's the best place to fly from? We're flying into Miami from NYC, but want to fly back ideally from Orlando, so we could go to Manchester. Is this viable?

We stayed for a week on Captiva which is the neighbouring smaller island. We loved it after the bustle of Orlando, we rented a boat and went to Cabbage Key which is very rustic and is adorned with dollar bills signed by the person who left them, everyone leaves one and takes a photograph as they atttach it to the dining room walls.. great fun!!!!!!!
We visited lots of great restaurants on Sanibel and Captiva, it is really a tropical place and the causeway approach is stunning.
You will really enjoy.
We are staying on Marco Island next year as our chill out week.
