Just getting round to posting some comments after our recent trip and thought I would start with this.

Now then I hope the wife does not read this as I had to pretend it was fun so as not to upset her,but here is the real verdict.

Firstly you are "advised" to get there early to "enjoy" the pre show buffett. This seemed to be bowls of crisps etc and bits of salad and some meatball type things.Of course there was also plenty of time to spend money at the cash bars.

A bit of pre-show entertainment which was a bit naff and then into the show. Now please do not expect a decent dinner, mass market food chewy meat and frozen veg. There was "free" beer and wine,I had plent yof beer when I could but all I can say is it must have been a little on the weak side!.

There seemed to be a story of sorts going on but it was hard to follow as the sound quality was poor and you were trying to eat your dinner at the same time. To be fair the cast were doing their best and people joined in to some extent with all the yo hooing etc.

At the end of the meal (and while the show was still going on) a little plastic tray was put in front of us with suggested tips written on it ie $5 for adults and $3 for kids. The server kind of hung around until something was put in it. Then the photos taken earlier were brought round (still whilst the show was on) for $20.

It then finished with a disco type thing going on for 1/2 hour or so.

When the costs were added up including taxi fare, drinks, photo, tips etc it cost about the same as our visit to Cirque Solei!.

Now you can draw your own conclusions from all this but suffice to say I dont wish to go back.If you have a budget and are looking for a show go for Cirque.

Any comments welcome, hope I have not cheesed of any Pirate lovers out there.

sounds pretty similar to our night at Arabian Nights
originally we were going to do Medievil Times but everbody said Arabian would be better but i can say that we got it buy one get one free and still thought it was overpriced
the food seems to be pretty bad all over and we also had the less than subtle hint about the tip which DH nearly refused to pay at all cos our server wasnt very good and distinctly biased towards american families :mad2:
even Craig (4) was disapointed and we went for his sake

Frankly, I thought that the Pirates show was a terrible waste of a night out (and money) - the food was awful and the show only so so.

It's not a patch on the Pirates show in Magaluf, Majorca which we all really enjoyed.

We won't be going again in a hurry........

As for the way the tip thing is conducted....:(

We only went because we had enjoyed the pirate show in Magaluf so much and wanted to repeat the experience.......never again, awful waste of money, and as you say the tip issue is very badly handled, it feels like extortion!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to the Pirate Show last week only because we got free tickets with First For Attractions (not quite free as we had to pay $10 per adult and $8 per child tax and gratuity) this was paid before entering.

The shows sound quality was on the poor side but to be fair to the people in the show they were punch perfect. I thought the food was very poor in fact the dessert which was apple pie and ice-cream came on quite a large oval plate, with a scoop of ice-cream and an equal sized piece of apple pie placed on the side, the rest of the plate had chocolate sauce stripes on it (even the Americans next to us thought there was something missing).

I don't like beer or wine so when I requested coffee, I was told it would be coming at the end of the meal and then when it did I only got one cup.

We weren't given a dish for tips like everyone else - and our server politely thanked us and said that our tip was already taken care of.

So I can say that we wouldn't go again. The show was entertaining for kids, the setting was good but the food was poor(as all dinner shows are).

I certainly wouldn't have paid £55 for 2 adults & 1 child. I think the $28 we paid was certainly enough.

I have to agree with all the comments above. We seen the Pirates show in Magaluf a few years ago and our kids were really looking forward to this night-out. We left Seaworld early and missed the fireworks to see the rubbish put-on at the Orlando Pirates Dinner Show. My youngest, dressed-up as a pirate and was really excited and at the end said "is that it?"....he is only 5!

A complete waste of time, food terrible and I have never been so sober after drinking so much "beer".

I also thought the coke was supposed to be fizzy, not at this show.

Food was cold & terrible. Show had no story and little audiance involvement. Little tray for a tip with suggested amounts was a disgrace. Photos, not another photo from orlando!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY...DO NOT ATTEND THIS DINNER.

Better value for money at a McD or KFC.

I've actually paid to go sometime during our stay.........I wont rush to book a night, i'd rather waste the money than waste my time ( i wont tell DH though, he'd rather get his monies worth ) lol

Just plan to do something after the show. Think we were out just after 9pm. Then standing on I-Drive all looked at each other and said "now what" at the same time!!!

Left a rather hollow feeling.

The food at the new Dolly Parton show is the best of any dinner show in town (save Sleuths Mystery).....and the entertainment part is better than any in town (save Sleuths).....
