Sweet Tomatoes (offsite)

Thank you for your recommendations Dibbers! What a great find this place is! We’ve been missing out, haven’t we?

When you walk in, you are greeted by a member of staff who hands you a tray, and politely explains how it all works.
First stop is the salad bar, where there is a vast array of fresh and interesting ingredients. I honestly couldn’t think of anything else they could have added. You name it - it was there! My favourite surprise was the Pineapple Cole Slaw.
At the end of the salad bar, you pay and order your drinks. I had lovely, refreshing strawberry lemonade. Then you are seated at either tables or booths. You can go up to get more food whenever you like.
There is a card on your table that shows the staff that you have gone to the buffet and you’ll be returning. So you can relax in the knowledge that your table (and any tasty morsels) won’t be cleared in your absence!

The journey continues with freshly made soups – Vegetable Medley for Paul and Chicken Pot Pie for me! There were a couple of others too, but I can’t remember what flavours. Oh yes I can - one was Creamy Rosemary Potato and the other was a Chilli. (Phew I thought the photographic memory had failed me for a minute!)
Freshly baked Rosemary Foccaccia, Muffins, Cornbread, Granary bread, French bread, Pizza bread and Biscuits were constantly being replenished.
There were baked potatoes and sweet potatoes, along with toppings such as sour cream, fresh chives, bacon bits, cheese, and the usual whipped butter. Also on offer was a choice fresh pasta dishes. I tried Italian Meatball Spaghetti and Fettuccine Alfredo with fresh tomatoes. Both were very tasty. (Small portions – and not on the same visit, may I add - I’m not a glutton!!)
At another section there was fresh fruit – melon and pineapple. And I think I may have spotted some cottage cheese!! LOL
I made myself a nice pudding from the soft serve vanilla ice cream, swirled onto a warm chocolate brownie, topped with some caramel sauce and chopped nuts.

The whole place was spotlessly clean, with friendly, welcoming and extremely efficient staff.
$6.99 for food of this quality is truly amazing!
We ate there twice for lunch during our visit, and look forward to next April, when we can eat there again.

Yip - my son is standing beside me and it brings back great memories- his absolute favourite! I have Anne to thank for this recommendation and we could have eaten here every day. We made it our midday stop when we went to US, IoA and Wet n Wild.It is unbelievable, eating so well and (in the main) so healthily for $22 for 3.
The choice is endless and I remember fondly the brownies, breads and salads.
The clam chowder and chilli soups were our favourites. Great photos Sue

We LOVE Sweet Tomato it our favourite place to eat. As you said Sue the salad choice is amazing and you could be full on just that never mind the fresh pasta dishes or soups.

If they have roasted mushroom soup then give it a try as it is devine (it wasn't on the menu in the summer)

The staff are always nice and they will cook fresh plain pasta for DS as it is all he will eat from the buffet.

For anyone who has not been be sure to include this place on your next visit.

We didn't have this either time we went, and were quite confused, lol.

But the food more than made up for it, my brother particularly loved getting his own drinks from the machine

Neither did we, I think they only do that at really busy times. But there is a blackboard with a welcome message telling you to take a tray and help yourself right at the front door. :D

It looks great - where exactly will we find it? Is it on International Drive?

Sorry guys - it's on Kirkman Drive, as you head towards Beltz

Hopefully a more map oriented DIBBer can be more specific!

I too love Sweet Tomatoes. It is so different from the heavy meals you can get elsewhere, such as burgers, ribs, fries, steaks etc.

I think the price goes up to $8.49 after 4pm but it is still amazing value. Watch out for the chocolate lava cake - delicious with Mr Whippy ice cream, caramel sauce and nutty bits!

I'm pleased to see you are still enjoying this report from our first visit to Sweet Tomatoes

We've been back many times since and if anything it just gets better!

I hear they do a Sunday Brunch now. I'd love to give it a try. Has anyone been?

Sounds loverly, wher is it?

Past Wet n Wild, on opposite side of the road. On the corner of I Drive and I think South Kirkman Rd.
If you look on the I Ride Trolley map (located at every stop) you'll see it on the map.
You will enjoy it there its FAB:tounge::wave:

Just had a quick read thru didn't see any posts about registering with their website. Sorry if I missed it.
I register before each trip, enter my birthday as the day we fly and a few days before leaving I get an email for buy one get one free, plus a few 15% vouchers. I think evening meal was $8.79 at Easter. Works out at about £2.40 each incl tax. Its got to be best value food in Florida, been going years now.
