Sweet Tomatoes (offsite)
Thank you for your recommendations Dibbers! What a great find this place is! We’ve been missing out, haven’t we?
When you walk in, you are greeted by a member of staff who hands you a tray, and politely explains how it all works.
First stop is the salad bar, where there is a vast array of fresh and interesting ingredients. I honestly couldn’t think of anything else they could have added. You name it - it was there! My favourite surprise was the Pineapple Cole Slaw.
At the end of the salad bar, you pay and order your drinks. I had lovely, refreshing strawberry lemonade. Then you are seated at either tables or booths. You can go up to get more food whenever you like.
There is a card on your table that shows the staff that you have gone to the buffet and you’ll be returning. So you can relax in the knowledge that your table (and any tasty morsels) won’t be cleared in your absence!

The journey continues with freshly made soups – Vegetable Medley for Paul and Chicken Pot Pie for me! There were a couple of others too, but I can’t remember what flavours. Oh yes I can - one was Creamy Rosemary Potato and the other was a Chilli. (Phew I thought the photographic memory had failed me for a minute!)
Freshly baked Rosemary Foccaccia, Muffins, Cornbread, Granary bread, French bread, Pizza bread and Biscuits were constantly being replenished.
There were baked potatoes and sweet potatoes, along with toppings such as sour cream, fresh chives, bacon bits, cheese, and the usual whipped butter. Also on offer was a choice fresh pasta dishes. I tried Italian Meatball Spaghetti and Fettuccine Alfredo with fresh tomatoes. Both were very tasty. (Small portions – and not on the same visit, may I add - I’m not a glutton!!)
At another section there was fresh fruit – melon and pineapple. And I think I may have spotted some cottage cheese!! LOL
I made myself a nice pudding from the soft serve vanilla ice cream, swirled onto a warm chocolate brownie, topped with some caramel sauce and chopped nuts.

The whole place was spotlessly clean, with friendly, welcoming and extremely efficient staff.
$6.99 for food of this quality is truly amazing!
We ate there twice for lunch during our visit, and look forward to next April, when we can eat there again.
