Ocala,Florida located in Marion County is considered the horse capital of the world.
Located about an hour or so north of Orlando up the Florida Turnpike.
This where Silver Springs is located also.
In Marion County you will find Florida's cowboys complete with 5 gallon hats, cowboy boots, jeans, big buckle belts, chewing tobacco fellows.
Do a search at http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/florida/recreation/index_oca.shtml#horse
The Ocala National Forest is where you want to go.
Ocala One Hundred Mile Horse Trail looks challenging.
You could probably spend a couple of days there.
