View Full Version : Kids Love Big Breakfast - Best Place?

Our two DS's love having a big breakfast....not every morning, but as a special treat. Normally it is only cereal and toast.
There favourite is sausage and loads of pancakes.
They asked on a number of occasions to go to a diner when in Orlando last year, but we just didn't seem to have scheduled enough rest days, and we could not face a roller coaster after a full breakfast..............Hence gave it a miss.
However, planning to take things alittle easier this time round. Are there any buffet style diners that do breakfast in the Crossroads or South International Drive area?
Has anyone tried Denny's or Ponderosa ?
Comments welcome.

We love IHOP (International House of Pancakes) and there are lots of locations in Orlando - here is the link below with addresses, (hope the it works!!)
They are famous for their Pancakes - we loved the buttermilk selection with crispy bacon and sausages, smothered in Maple syrup -luvvverly. I'm sure there would be one near to your location.

Golden Corral probably has the edge over Sizzler and Ponderosa - very cheap, and you just eat till you can eat NO MORE !
:jump:
I particularly like the crispy bacon and nicer fruit displays at Sizzler, but I think GC has more overall selection.
IHOP's usually get good reviews but I havn't tried any (yet).
We've had dinner at Denny's a few times - very cheap and loads of food - never had a bad meal yet.
As for doing the coasters straight after brekkie - NO PROBLEM !

Although IHOP and perkins are good places to eat they are not buffet style it has to be Golden corral and the one you wany is at Lake Buena vista. From the crossroads head towards the I4 then turn left anf left again its right next to Bahama Brezze. From south International drive take a right and just before the I4 take another right then first left.

If you are desparate for an IHOP there is one across the road from Crossroads - I wouldn't recommend the steak though!!

We loved the Sizzlers near the Crossroads :tounge: :tounge: :tounge:
(turn left at the WDW gate junction opposite the Crossroads precinct and its a few blocks down on your right) .

Try Friendly's. I always insist on having their pancake breakast at least once every holiday - stack of 3 large pancakes, blueberry or apple topping, squirty cream, maple syrup served on the side in a jug, plus bacon or suasages and a slice of melon. Lovely!!
They have loads of other items on the brekkie menu, its a sit-down place which we like as a change from buffets.
They are good for other meals too, and serve great ice cream sundaes. We usually go in once just for a banana split.

Another vote for Golden Corral at LBV. Our kids love it there for breakfast and dinner. Only another 9 months 'til we are eating there again.

we used ponderosa for breakfast. Virgin had an offer. For 15.00 you brought a card which gave you children eat free at certain places. (2004). Not sure if they still do that.
As you stated above my children are also used to cereal, crossaints. But when faced with a Buffet of Cooked Breakfast, muffins, pancakes, sweet sausages, jelly & cereal they thought they were in heaven. Well their eyes were and not their tummies. Definatley set us up 4 the day.

:tounge: Got to be Golden Corral...When you've done with the sausages and pancakes you can move on to the warm donuts, red velvet cake, lemon meringue pie and ice cream machine with some warm toffee sauce...if I lived there i would be the size of a small country!!!:spin:

Hi this one isnt a buffet but we stay on westwood bouv just off I drive near seaworld, and there was a place called THE VILLAGE INN it was great, really good prices and excellent breakfast for all, kids breakfast`s a dollar and you got 3 pancakes, sausage, egg, honey, jam or blueberry sauce, waffles and a bottomless drink, and the skillets i had yummmmmmmmmmm, the staff were excellent with kids, very friendly place we ate there loads when not in the parks.
One evening meal for 2 adult and 4 kids including wine+beer steak`s, pasta, burgers, chicken, and yummy dessert`s only cost us around $40!!!!!
