become temporary members of a dvd video rental shop?
our villa at westridge has a video and dvd player and watching films is DSs best hobby:rolleyes: one of the conditions on getting him to come this year was that he could stay at the villa when we did other things.
we dont have a multi reigon dvd at home and i am presumimg the one at the villa is only USA compatable so to buy would be a waste.
has anyone done this and if so can you recomend where is best considering where we are located US27 off 192
thanks

You can do that. We did it when we went last time. Just needed to show some form of id (driving licence/passport). We were quite surprised that it was that easy. Can't remember where the shop was, it was next to a pizza take out place - very handy!

You can normally get the hack codes of most dvd players. Look here http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/multiregion/hackable.asp
there are plenty other sites too. Also amazon and others sell multi region dvd players for under £30
...'our' last two villa owners have made a fairly good & current selection of dvds available to their guests... although I must admit we hardly used the option, as we tend to be in or around the pool when in residence. Hopefully you may find something worth watching is provided...

there is a video rental shop on the west end of the 192 called showtimes . you can become a member there no problem .All you need to do is giev your phone number -this becomes your account number and its best to use your uk one as you won't forget it .Some form of photo id and cc details which won't be used unless you forget to return any rentals
If the code for your player is not on that site. You can either sear for dvd hacks or if you let me know I'll email you someother sites. It can be worth it as you can often purchase dvds for other countries months before they are onat the cinema here.

You normally get some dvds supplied at the villas. You can always pop into Wal-Mart and pick up some of the ones they have around the $5-$10 mark. Probably just as cheap as hiring!

There is a rental shop next to Harry Ramsbottoms on the 192 which we have used for years.
I always offer to go for the films so I can sneak a pint in at Harrys!
