Hi, now I'm really getting into the detailed planning stages. Oh, did I ever remember to tell you all how horrendously detailed my plans for ANYTHING tend to be?

So here's my plan for Saturday 12th March, this is our first full day. :D

Any thoughts welcome - and yes, I do know that, especially with four kids in tow, it will probably all have to be either scrunched up and chucked in the bin, or at the very best, rejigged significantly. I still like to have a plan in hand, I think it's my version of a security blanket - LOL!

Lesley

In advance, make PS for dinner at Le Cellier ($100+ for main course plus dessert - $30 per adult, $11 per child, plus tax/tip) OR plan to walk into somewhere like the Electric Umbrella for a counter meal ($8 – 10 each plus tax/tip). (Have to discuss this with DH, see what he thinks. Any opinions welcomed.)

Quick breakfast at villa, or cereal bars, bananas and OJ boxes on the way to Epcot for 8:30 AM!

Grab FPs for Mission Space on the way to Test Track (112cm, so twins may not be able to ride). If not, then child swap, or take them to Space Base playground in / near gift shop.

Ride Mission Space with Fastpass if time works. (If not, head for Body Wars first.)

Grab FPs for Honey I Shrunk the Audience on the way to Spaceship Earth. Then ride Honey I Shrunk the Audience if times work. (If not, head for The Living Seas first.)

(Should be at least 11 AM by now, so World Showcase next.)
Grab FPs for Maelstrom (Norway) then double back to El Rio de Tiempo (Mexico).

Do the Kidcot Fun Stops on the way round (buy Epcot Passports for $10 each), and take in “Reflections of China” and “O Canada” as early as possible.

If any time left, do the “American Adventure” and “Impressions de France” (but queues may be long by now, time could be better spent at Kidcot stations and browsing the lands).

(GO HOME FOR LUNCH AND NAP, returning 5 PM ish.)
Grab FP for whatever ride we most want to do again (from Mission Space, Test Track, Maelstrom and Honey I Shrunk the Audience).

Do Ellen’s Energy Adventure, Cranium Command (and, if not earlier, Body Wars).

Do Journey into Imagination with Figment, (and, if not earlier, the Living Seas).

Innoventions West and East is another possibility, especially Ice Station Cool. Could choose to leave this to a second day in Epcot later in the holiday.

Back into World Showcase for more Kidcot stops, plus, if not earlier, The American Adventure and Impressions de France.

Have dinner at either Le Cellier (if PS booked) or Electric Umbrella.

Watch Illuminations at 9 pm – between Canada and UK, trail leading off to side, trees to sit under, little known path with little or no crowd. (Do NOT try to leave immediately show is over, as crowds make it difficult. Get an icecream or something. QUESTION: Where will still be open?)

Lesley,

Bear in mind that China and Canada are opposite sides of World Showcase. You may be best to start at either Canada (on the right) or Mexico (on the left) and work your way round to America then catch a boat back to the start and finish the other half of World Showcase on your next Epcot planned day.

Yes - Epcot is immense. The idea of dashing round WS makes me want to lie down. If I were you I'd be a bit more chilled - do FW in the morning and WS in the afternoon. I'm sure the crowds won't be so bad. You will need FP for Test Track and Maelstrom but when we were there in October everything else was a walk on including Mission Space.

Rather than Electric Umbrella (which is OK, but nothing special) why not try one of the eating places in World Showcase which are very impressive?

Don't miss Ice Station Cool - its to the right of the dancing fountains - where you can try out Coca Cola drinks from around the world. Some are hideous!!:D

After Illuminations you can shop til you drop in Mouse Gear. I can't remember any food places being open, but you can certainly buy sweets, lollipops, biscuits etc in Mouse Gear. The plaza is lovely at night - we always sit outside Mouse Gear (some of us shop, some of us don't!) and watch the people, the fountains and the lights while the parking lot empties.

Grab FPs for Maelstrom (Norway)

I would of thought that FP's are still closed at Maelstrom as it was a 'walk on ride' in October. To be honest in EPCOT FP's are only needed for TT and MS. HISTA could also be a walk on.

I wouldn't do maelstrom twice - ONCE is enough for anybody (although there is a hidden mickey on there somewhere)

Don't eat in Electric Umberella - there are much nicer places to have something.

The Kidcot stops are a must, but will take time . .

Try not to miss Off Kilter.

Some people like to try Beaver Tails at Canada, but personally, I like the Funnel Cakes at USA (for a nice snack)

:thumb: well done on your choice of park for the first day!

My only slight concern is whether, even after a good rest back at base, your kids (or you) will be able to stay awake long enough to enjoy Illuminations and the exit from the park... we're usually flaking out before 8pm on our first day or two, but obviously everyone's tolerances are different... and if you were to miss anything, you'd simply have to go back later in the trip!:wink

Absolutely - DON'T miss IllumiNations - it's unlike any other fireworks display - and the music is so uplifting . . . wonderful

I'm pretty sure that the Wonders of Life pavillion will be closed when you go - it's only open for busier times of year like President's Day and Easter. So I think your plans for Body Wars and Cranium Command may be a bit scuppered.
