View Full Version : MK - is it two days' worth?
Hi, I'm planning our first day at MK, and while I haven't officially included a second, I'm starting to think we might need one.
We are likely to want to do just about everything, since this is the kids' first trip, and probably their last for some considerable time.
Is MK a two day park (especially with young kids)? Or should I plan a second day with half a day at Epcot and half at MK?
TIA

Defo a second day .. maybe more :D
I always find its not wise to go to MK for full days though, it gets very busy in the afternoons. We do MK mornings then epcot or MGM in the afternoons and evenings.

We've been going for many years now and still go back to MK for a day here, half a day there, adding up to at least 3 or 4 days per visit. Sometimes we would just go for the morning, or go for dinner and catch the parade and fireworks or even just for a couple of hours. Mind you, I guess it helps staying at the Grand Floridian as it is only 1 monorail stop away!
If it's your 1st stay then at least 2 days, then hopefully you can come back for more and more!!
We went to MK 4 or 5 times on our last visit. In order for DS to see everything and do his favourite things again we definitely needed several visits.
We didn't always spend all day there (sometimes went in the morning and left mid-afternoon), sometimes arrived in the afternoon and stayed til closing.

I would definately do 2 days with little ones on a first visit.
The key is get there really early,do the rides you want to then wander round/shop/visit Tom sawyers island when it gets busy.

we got 5 or 6 times each trip - not for full days, but at least 1 full day and then lots of half days, evenings etc. There is loads to see and the kids love it - you will want to spend a lot of time there

Thanks everyone for all the help! I hear what you're saying Stulyn, but it's not so much the money (though that is a big issue!) but the time - we said we were prepared to take the kids out of school for a week or so while the oldest was still at primary school - but not once she is at secondary (i.e. next year!) - and I don't really fancy July or August which is the only other option.
Have been twice with DH pre-kids in August and it was SOOOOOOO hot that I can't quite imagine doing it with kids!

the other options are easter or christmas - we are currently trying to only take one week off school, so aim for half terms, but will probably move to christmas or easter as she gets older

But I'm in N. Ireland where we rarely get as much as two weeks at Easter or Christmas - usually only 7 or 8 days. Plus, I must admit, I don't fancy it at Christmas - I like to be at home then. We're going for Easter this year, but taking the kids out for nearly two weeks, to have three weeks there.

Definitely 2 days with little ones. There is so much to do and you can spend more than half a day in Fantasyland alone if they are very small.

We got back yesterday and we spent three days at MK and we still did not complete everything!
It is defeinetly worth a few days with little ones as there is so much to do.....however my girls and Paul and I loved the Universal parks and IOA we could have done every day!!
