View Full Version : Fantasmic info please
Can anyone tell me what this is like? I have my planning dvd and brochure but it doesn't say much, although it looks like fun. Is this something we need to book before we go or just queue up?
Thanks guys

Definately a must see - we didn't have to book in advance, its held in a huge outdoor auditorium, we got there about 40 mins before it started - it was spectacular - its a show, with amazing special effects, fireworks, water pageant..........wonderful:D:D

Hi
This is a really great show that you must not miss.
You dont have to book up to see it, but you are adivised to get there at least 1 hour before the show starts.
There is the option of a Fantasmic Dinner Package, more info can be found Here (http://allearsnet.com/din/fantdin1.htm)
If you want to see what Fantasmic looks like then have a look Here (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/display.php?file=videos/video.php)
Hope this helps

It is a lights & fireworks show with Mickey as the Sorcerers Apprentice.
You can just queue up for it but they receommend you are there up to 2 hours in advance if you want a good seat depending on time of year.
Or, 3 restaurants in MGM do a Fantasmic Dinner Package where you pay a set price for dinner and they give you a pass to get in the back entrance to Fantasmic to sit in a designated area so you can turn up as little as half an hour before the show.
The restaurants are Hollywood & Vine, Mama Melrose & The Brown Derby. You can PS the dinner package.
The show is very good and should be a must do.

Do get there really early - on our first trip we got there exactly an hour before the show started and we were the last people allowed in the stadium (they literally pulled a rope across behind us). We ended up standing at the back and didn't get a good view at all.
Last year we got there early and had a superb view - it was like watching a different show, definitely worth the wait.
You can take some food in with you to eat while you wait, and everyone is in high spirits so the time seems to pass quite quickly

We always que early for this show, atmosphere in que is good, and if they are enough of you you can take it in turns to go and ride TOT.

We did Fantasmic on New Years Eve and it was the usual standard of disney show, very different and very professional. As with all things disney I would say check everything out once for yourselves and make your own judgement. Some of the most unlikely rides can be the best fun!!
Fantasmic is very popular though and there are queues for up to two hours to get a good seat. We took advice from fellow dibbers and booked the dinner package. We had a superb buffet at Hollywood and Vine ( ate at 4.30 pm) and was given a priority seating voucher for the fantasmic show, so we only had to show up 15 to 30 mins before the show started. The reserved seating is in a good area (though there aren't any really bad seats)
Well worth doing and made the whole evening much more relaxed and enjoyable.
Enjoy!!

This show is what Disney is all about...
Quality, fantasy and Magic.
For me the best thing at WDW.

i cry at the mention of Fantasmic! I so desperately wanted my son to see the show and we waited almost 2 hours in one of the best places to sit, and then 5 minutes before the start once the whole area was filled, they announced they would be experiencing a delay due to lightining and thunder. Well the skies went black and we knew nothing was going to happen, and we had to spend another hour to get out the place. I know its weather permitting, but it was a lovely evening until it was almost time to start, aaaahhhhh!!!!
Every night for the rest of the week the show was cancelled, but the announcement always came just when the show was about to commence, i wonder how many hot dogs and merchandise was sold while we were sitting waiting.
Would very much like to see the show as it sounds fab, but don't know if i will make the effort on my next visit soon, kids will probably remember our last attempt!

It is brilliant. My hubby hates waiting but was pleased we did. We got there early and sat centre. You can go off for popcorn etc whilst waiting. The show is undescribable. We loved it.

This is a show not to be missed. We did the dinner package which meant we didn't have to queue and are doing the same again this year.

Hi
Well I must be the one of the only ones who was not overly impressed with Fantasmic. Although I enjoyed it it was nothing like the first time I saw Spectromagic. Spectromagic was just fantastic and I felt quite emotional (but then it was our first visit) seeing the girls faces then 6 & 8.
Although I must admit I did go twice it was better the second time as it was the second show and slightly darker.

I was the same as you Lynn. In fact I was glad that we'd not had to queue for it. We also had good seats in the middle. We didn't bother with it last time.

Sure she'll enjoy it, but for me Spectromagic is just that - magical. Even DH had a tear in his eye when he was watching it.
Hi Anne
Glad I am not the only one.
Give me spectromagic every time. Even the music sets me off:cry:

Thought Fantasmic was one of our highlights. I went with DD (DH was ill) and then we nagged him into coming with us later in the holiday. As we left the second time DD said "mummy, it was just as good the second time" and I totally agreed. Sheer spectacle. I, on the other hand, could miss Spectromagic without a second thought. Ho hum!
