We did both last year and our DS's really enjoyed the atmosphere. Although alot of people say food not that great, we all loved it and really fun places......Hard Rock the best.

In respect to Hard Rock Cafe, you can book 30days before hand on the internet. I would advise.

In respect to Planet Hollywood, we bought VIP tickets and hence walked straight in. These are $10 and you actually get $10 off your food bill.....got from undercovertourist.com

In October (at it was not that busy), there was 30min wait at both for dinner.

We also like both of these places.

The food is good but the atmosphere at each is tremendous, especially PH.

We has PS's for Planet Hollywood which was just as well as the wait time was up to an hour (this was in January when Down Town Disney was deserted due to the freezing weather).

We've never had to wait long at Hard Rock although we tend to go there at lunchtime when we are in the park.

We to went to both last year went straight from the park to hard rock, and didn,t waitat all, great place.
However must admit plant holywood was better, like chesterboy bought from undercovertourist the VIP tickets and was glad we did as it was the dearest meal we had in Florida.

But well worth it.

depends what time you want to eat, early on tends to be a lot quieter so just turn up and go...

I think it depends on what time of year you go. We went in September last year to both (quiet season) and we were able to just walk in to both of them. But I imagine during the high summer months, it's wise to book a table in advance.

I,ve tried both many times and must say i prefer Hard Rock. I don't judge them in the same class of venue. Planet hollywood is too packed in and the food very average. I'd go for Hard Rock everytime.
