We have decided as none of us are big coaster fans and youngest daughter who will be 7 is totally wanting to do the Disney parks and eldest daughter who will be 15 is just wanting shopping, and discovery cove so we arent gonna do universal!
This is (according to hubby) our one and only trip to Orlando
so
can we improve (Im sure we can) on the above????????

Just letting you know that Universal studios does not really have any coasters unless you count The Mummy..but I wouldn't call that a coaster..

Is Universal a more "grown up" version of MGM?
Just thought my youngest would get more out of a few extra days in say MK and AK than going to universal
and that MGM would be more up her street??

Its with Travel city and its on a place called Berkley (gated community with villas and townhouses)
it is supposed to be right behind Medievil Times?????
Not driven on the other side before so that will be a challenge in itself :(

October is a lovely time to visit. Your itinerary looks great, maybe you could visit Downtown Disney and Disneyquest after Blizzard Beach, your kids might enjoy this and there is some great shopping there too.
One and only visit! Ha Ha my DH said that too and here we are planning our third. :D
I'm sure you will soon be just as Disney-addicted as the rest of us, have a fabulous time!

Definitely swap AK to Saturday and MK to a light day.

You'll be up stupidly early on Saturday and can safely "do " AK between 9 and 5 when it closes, then back to the villa for an earlyish night.

In October they only do Spectromagic/Wishes on certain nights and this seems to make the crowds heavier than expected (and lighter than expected on non-Spectro/Wishes days)

You can always go back to MK one evening to watch Wishes and Spectromagic. It'll be heaving, but if you know you've just gone to shop and watch rather than ride then you won't be disappointed.

Edie just beat me to it I was going to suggest the same thing.

We were at MK on that Saturday last year and it was one of the few times we encountered any crowds. I would leave MK till mid week and either AK of Seaworld for your first day.

Don't necessarily write off Universal as being for older children either. Remember there's ET, Shrek 4D, Jimmy Netron, Nick studios - characters include Scooby & Shaggy, and Dora.

Also IOA has Seuss Landings, great water rides (very wet) and Spiderman. I would say IOA was definitely one of our favourite days out (my DS was 7 and DD was 5 when we were there.)

October is a great time to go. Epcot does get busier due to the food & wine festival. Blizzard beach may be closed as they normally close one of the water parks in October and the last few years it has been BB. Also at the weekends @ Sea World they have a special halloween event (included in the normal ticket) it does get busier but not too busy, kids trick or treating and also a special Shamu evening show. http://www.seaworld.com/seaworld/fla/swfse/spook.aspx
Also some to consider is a behind the scenes tour @ sea world great for kids. http://www.seaworld.org/education-programs/swf/tour/index.htm

Looks good. Are you staying onsite? Even if you aren't its best to take note of the EMH (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42410) days and take advatage if onsite or stay well clear if off site.

I wouldn't plan too much the day after MNSSHP. We didn't get back to out apartment 'til 1.40am after the party and stayed in bed 'til late.

we were home around the same time BB26 and had the next day as a shopping day so we could just get up when we get up, if you do a park the next day and get there for gates open you will be very tired the next day or day after that as it catches up with you.

the thing is with MNSSHP if you get there for 5pm and leave gone 12 its like being a park the whole day anyway and i would not want to waste a days ticket doing a 1/2 day at a park the next day, but that just my opinion :)

Oh gosh where do I start
Right well the person who said dont write off Universal and then mentioned Scooby and shaggy and Dora just sent me into a tizz as Scooby is little daughters fave cartoon!!!!!!!!!!
And she does love Dora as well :confused2

So IF we did add a universal day where would you put it

I will definitely have to jiggle and have a lighter day after MNSSHP
I had planned to shop earlier in the day to get DD an outfit to wear that night (as I have been told to wait til I get there as they are brilliant)
So maybe a waterpark the day after???

I put MK as the first park as I just couldnt imagine being 'there' and not doing it first
Shocking arent I

Oh well I shall take ALL of the above points into account and do a revised Itinerary :p:
I can see this is gonna be a long few months :wink

Hi Shazza,
You are arriving the day after us. It will be our first visit too. You probably know this already but the ice cream social is sadly no longer available. We had this on our plan as well :(
Have a great time,
Linda

Shazza,

Have to agree with Maggiemae: IOA is fab, definitely our fav park. kids (12, 9, 7) loved it, so try & slot it in somewhere! We didn't think much of AK, so personally wouldn't do this one more than once (preferred Busch Gardens).

We went in October last year & already looking forward to booking Oct 2007!

Have fun,

Jules x
