Just found some info on another site for;

Dolphins in Depth
Epcot

Has anyone ever done this sounds really good, a 3 1/2 tour with about 1 hour interaction with dolphins.

I was also wondering about ages my DS's will be 13 and 16. I know you can sign a waiver for the 16 but there was no info of the age restrictions.

Any help please.

This is what it says:

Dolphins in Depth
Epcot

A behind-the-scenes experience for Guests interested in learning more about the dolphins and research at The Living Seas, as well as those wanting to increase their awareness and appreciation for dolphin counterparts in the wild.

Expectant mothers may not take the tour.

You must be at least 13 years old to attend and anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Wetsuits are provided but your must bring your own swimsuit. You will be in water up to your waist for about 30 minutes.

Offered Mondays through Fridays at 9:45am and lasts approximately 3 hours.

The $150 cost includes a photograph with the dolphin, refreshments, and a T-shirt. Theme park admission is not required or included. Tour begins near the outside Guest Relations window.

Disney provides showers, shampoo, towels, soap and the wetsuits and booties. No swimming required. No cameras or video taping is allowed. Dolphin interaction is NOT guaranteed. It is the dolphin's choice to participate in the research sessions as well as the interactions.

There are some reports/reviews from people but everyone mentions being 16 or over.

Sounds good but probably not such good value for money as Discovery Cove.

Going by the £ to $ it works out at £83. That includes a T shirt and video/photo.
Going by the reviews you get about 1 hour interaction in the water, (not swim) with the dolphins which is a long time I think.

DC is about £140 for the whole day plus a Seaworld or BG pass. But I don't know how long a swim with the dolphins actually lasts.

I think it's only about 30 minutes so looks like Epcot is probably good value.

Hi! DH and I did this one when in honeymoon, in Jan 03. It was BEAUTIFUL. It takes place above the big aquariums in Epcot, and every now and then the 2 dolphins went down to be seen by the "normal" visitors below. You enter the tank and the trainers help you interact with the dolphins, the signs you can make to them (and they will respond!). Then you sit in the water, the dolphin comes over to you, you can touch him, stroke him, play with him a bith, and this is when they take your pic.
It is expensive, but to us it was worth every cent!!

We did DC last time we went and it was brilliant but if we ever get back this sounds like an ideal alternative.

We booked by phone, and paid by credit card (we had to pay straight away, if I remember correctly you can't cancel :-/). If you wish I can try to dig out the phone number from some guide, let me know!

I did this last December and it was brilliant! The reason I chose the Dolphins in Depth Tour over DC was because I was on my own and felt DC was more a couple or family thing, and was also staying on site so could use the Disney transportation. I can't rate this highly enough, it was wonderful, not only did you get to interact with your dolphin (there are a total of 8 people on the tour and you are split into 2 groups of 4 people and have 1 dolphin per group, you do around 20/30 minutes with 1 dolphin then swap and do another 20/30 minutes with the other dolphin), you also got to learn all about dolphins and sealife in general, and another great thing is you get to go behind scenes of the living seas which in itself is brilliant. They no longer do a video but you have an individual photo taken with the dolphin which they give you in a special frame at the end of the tour, and also a special t-shirt which is only given to people on the tour, and you cannot buy anywhere else.
