We have been offered a new alternative from staying at Villager Premier to move to Quality Inn Plaza.
I would appreciate any comments on what i should do as after looking at the reviews for QIP i'm not sure if it'll be a better move or a worse one!!
Has anyone just come back from any of these hotels?

Just thought, do you normally request any particular room when you go? I've heard that pool side is best away from the road noise, can we request a room through the travel agents or do we have to wait until we get there and hope for the best?

I get up at 7 mon to fri with my ds, nice to know that I am not the only 1.
I have never requested a particular room have been happy everytime with the room we have been given. I have always been on the ground floor. by the road and I have no complaints about noise, only people walking past at all hours but you will get that any any hotel.

We stayed at the QIP in January. Were in Block D about 1/2 mile drive from Reception.
Although our room was on the top floor over looking I-4 (the other views were great the Epcot Globe, Universal etc...), the road noise wasn't so bad once you were in your room, if your were on the lower floors the noise maybe louder.
Overall not a bad hotel, IMHO wouldn't say it was great either. The location is great if you don't want to drive too much, personally we wouldn't go back there and must admit we went for breakfast at the Village Premier and thought it looked a better than the QIP and seemed in a bit of a quieter area.
I honestly think at this level of hotel, there all going to have good and bad points and so long as you feel safe and comfortable in the room you get given (you can always reject the room until you get one you like) you'll enjoy your holiday.

We stayed in the QIP last year on the ground floor at the end near Sizzlers and Pizza Hut, and to be honest we enjoyed our stay there.
Before going we had read mixed reports and were a bit dubious, but the room was clean and the location excellent..... especially for the Point, we just kept nipping over the road.
We were thinking of staying there again in May (10 days and counting!!) but opted for Courtyard opp Mercado for a change.

Hi, we stayed at the Quality Inn Interbational two years ago and found it was fine. We are going again this year. We didn't eat in the hotel but the restaurant looked fine. The shop and bar were ok and there was a nice little area to sit outside for a drink. My sister stayed at the Villager Premier and half way through her holiday she changed hotels to ours. She wasn't impressed with it at all. I don't know all of the details but I'll find out and get back to you.
Hope this helps

We stayed in the QIP last September and won't be returning. We had problems with our rooms, 1st one had a faulty air con which leaked in the room and reaked the place out.
They only let us change room after midnight as there was no others clean and they moved us to a smoking room (we detest smoking) which reaked of stale smoke and it was filthy and full of cig burns in the bathroom. The sink had deep scratches all through it, which were full of muck.
Maybe it was because of the hurricanes, but we found the staff to be rude and unhelpful. This 2nd room spoiled the rest of our holiday, but we'd given up with complaining by this point.
Other people obviously didn't have the same experience as us, but we've decided to pay a bit more from now on. It is a budget hotel after all.
One other thing that really annoyed me was that we had free meal vouchers to eat at the hotel, but as soon as the hurricance came and we had no choice but to eat at the hotel they wouldn't let people use them. There were lots of people complaining about this as it was $10 per person, it was especially bad for larger families as it would cost a fortune for a few meals per day.

We have stayed at the QIP twice the last time we had bugs in our room but another room in the f block, much better, great location for breakfast's ( pondarosa/sizzler) and local resturants (race rock a must, tgi fridays, etc) theres a 24hr pharmacey a short walk away that sells everything.
Just make sure that your room is in one of their 'executive blocks''

we stayed here the first time we visited florida and I must say it was perfectly reasonable for the amount of time we spent in the hotel, we spent most of our days and nights out and about and by the time we got back we jsut crashed, have certainly stayed at nicer hotels in florida since but definatly would not knock QIP especially for ease of access to restaurants shops and attractions.
You will love it
