Supposed to be having a 'well being' today - time off work to chill and relax and do something different. Then the post came -
Virgin would like to inform me that Village Premier has changed its name to Studio Inn, but still under the same ownership. Will see what I can find out on line, I suppose all the facilities will remain the same? Don't really fancy phoning Virgin at this time of day on the 0871 number!!!!

Does this happen often or is it more a more sinister thing after the negative comments? I suppose it could be a good thing in that they are trying to improve their reputation.

We really did want to be near SeaWorld so I don't want to change at this stage.:baaa:

I was looking at the Virgin website this morning at prices for next year and the Studio Inn kept on coming up as one of the hotels available at not a bad price. I wasn't too sure in booking a hotel i'd not heard of on the dibb nor found when searching elsewhere.

Your letter puts a new spin on my holiday searching now as we passed the VP and ate breakfast there one morning and we didn't think it looked too bad at all. Breakfast was very good by the way.

Carl :)

Have also recieved the same letter from virgin today, hopefully nothing will change and if they are trying to improve their reputation that can only be a good thing, not really going to worry about it.

Just stress level DEFCON 1 at the moment with things at work! (redundancies, budget etc)
So don't need to be worrying about the summer bookings!
However looking at your countdown you will be back (sorry to say) before we go, so I hope you will be able to give us an up to date report on VP aka Studio Inn!!

Blimey, its changed its name, thats what dodgy double glazing companies do, I have not got my letter yet, but I wont be too bothered as I have been before and just know that this place is ok.
We are there for the last two weeks of August, so it should be fully rebranded by then

The Studio Inn was listed on the Virgin Holidays website.

I selected 1/9/06 from Manchester to Orlando for 14 nights the first hotel is listed as Studio Inn, click on details and Village Premier comes up.

Hi all

I am still a very new dibber! and not too sure what i am doing but i am sure i will get around it. We have booked to go to the village premier/studio inn (whatever they are calling it) in August, and am really worried as i have heard so many bad reports and we are taking our two children who are 5 and 6 it will be there first time there so dont really want anything to go wrong, i know i am probably panicking for nothing,

Could anyone who has been here recently let me know what they thought. And also any tips how i can keep the two little ones occupied on the flight as the eldest just talks non stop!!!

Thanks all
Linz

Welcome to the Dibb!

We are going to VP in July and were worried about the negative reports we heard. Maddsoda had just posted her review of the hotel in another thread
http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48085&highlight=villager+premier

Try this thread and search for others. And we will let everyone know on August 10th! Someone will be along soon to help about the flight I am sure!

HI I was there in march and it was fine .there is nothing to worry about they seem to be doing it up as when we were there they were painting stair wells ect . Its in an excellant possition as well .....Not too close to I drive but easy to get to every where as the I trolly stop is just out side . I would and am certainly going to use it again and I'm fussy . Its nothing flash but i found it clean and tidy and had every thing you need .
hope this helps .

We took a 2year old and 4 year old in March. It is very basic but adequate you don't feel you have be "mustn't touch"careful with kids there. But you have to watch the cleaners as it did seem to go downhill during our visit. The restaurant next door is great with kids. The curtesy bus is good and I-ride stops just outside, There isplenty of parking space as well.

When my granddaughter was that age we used to take little activity books, story book, travel games etc and bring something new out around every hour. The novelty of each item kept her going until we brought something else out (or until the food came round whichever was soonest  )

There will be 5 of us going this August and the reviews are the norm to be honest. In my line of work, I look out for very bad establishments. The VP/Studio Inn do know of my stature and have reassured me that all will be fine at their hotel. I am not surprised that they have decided to change the name. For a transformation to take place, it is usually best to have a name change anyway. If you asked 100 guests at any hotel, I bet you would get the highs and lows.

We are flying with Virgin as they are great in our book, but I know a handful who think they are crap!! There will always be an element of bad/good reviews no matter the hotel. That's human nature!!!

Yes thank you for that, it was the best day of my life and a great honeymoon (cruising the med), now looking forward to the delights of Orlando in August.
