View Full Version : Disneyland Paris
Hi
Have a weeks holiday end of July and we are thinking of a surprise visit to DLP for DD14.
Just a few questions. How many days would be required to get round it all? Is it better staying on site?
As we are near Aberdeen we would prefer
to fly but the prices we are being quoted are horrendous.
Don't really want to drive as it is too far.
Can anyone recommend any companies that do good deals or are they just not available to DLP.
Planning back to Florida so don't want to spend too much this year.
Thanks
Lynn
Hi Lynn :D
What sort of prices have you been quoted by the airlines and who have you looked at?

Due to the nature of my job I have been on educational trips to DLP one last year and again this year for the launch of space mountain mission 2.
Having done a tour of all the hotels they have to offer andboth flying and travelling by eurostar I maybe able to give some advise.
Firstly, DLP can be done in 3 to 4 days I would not book longer than this as you can experience everything in this amount of time.
Secondly, if you stay on site then you are in the heart of the magic, all the hotels are themed and you are able to use the benfits that disney hotels offer. Your T.A will be able to advise u of these. If getting a hotel on site, I would recommend the Holiday Inn as it is really nice and it is only 5 minutes on the transfer bus.
Eurostar is the cheapest option and u will go straight into the park, they also do eurostar hotel check in so u can go and play as soon as u arrive (if staying at a disney hotel) Flying is easier for most of the country however as soon as you get to CDG then u may find it hard to navigate and then you will need to pay an additional 14euros per person per way for transfers on the shuttle bus.
A lot of budget airlines may go to CDG or Paris Orly Airport.
In all DLP can be quite expensive and sometimes it would be better off just going to WDW unless u find the best deal...I WOULD SUGGEST, 2 things trying to taylor make your package. Budget airlines, Attraction passes and search engine for a cheap hotel in the area.
Or as it is such a specialist break spending one day going round the highstreet T.A and asking for a price with proof then trying to get a price match or a beaten price in each T.A after that.
Hi Diane
Have tried, British airways, BMI and various others online coming up with about £700 for flights.
On-site hotels also coming in expensive.
Really don't want to waste a day either side just travelling south but that may be our only option.
Thanks loubylou will probably just go round the local travel agents. DD has been for a day with her school but I'm sure she will enjoy it again.
Thanks Lynn
We have cheap flights from Exeter to Paris with flybe, don't think they fly from Aberdeen though, although I do see they fly from Edinburgh to Exeter (do you see where I'm going with this :D )
Most of their costs seems to be taken up with charges, I don't know how it works if you were flying say from Edinburgh to Paris via Exeter, would you have to pay charges for all legs of the journey?
We also have a week at the end of July and were thinking of also going to Paris, with a day at DLP. Might see you there :wink
Diane :D
Hi Diane
£446 Edinburgh to Exeter and £200(?) exeter to Paris.
So not alot cheaper. This is the worst thing about stayin in this part of the country NO CHEAP HOLIDAYS
:(
When are you planning going? Older DD is away between 24th and 31st July so thought we would make the most of it LOL:D

Sorry to jump in on this thread with another question. Hope you don't mind Lynn:D What is DLP like? I only ask because I've heard comments that it's not as good. So I just wondered because it's an affordable option to me for the years we can't get across 'the pond'.
If you could fly from Glasgow you can go Ryanair to Paris Beauvais for £75 each return flying out on Mon 25th July at 15:30 and returning on Fri 29th July at 22:25, for example. See www.ryanair.com
Octopus Travel (www.octopustravel.com) are offering the 2-star Kyriad hotel just outside DLP for £228.00 total for a twin room for the 4 nights.
You would still have your transfers to pay, but this appears the least expensive option.
With Flybe I was pulling up prices Edinburgh - Exeter on Mon 25th July as £280.44 for 3 adults return?
Although Hal's suggestion of Glasgow looks good too :D
We are looking at the same week as you, we are thinking of camping though, at a site just outside Paris. Going Sat 23rd and returning Sat 30th with Norfolkline ferries (£88 return car + pax).
We're looking for the cheapest option as we've already had 2 weeks in Florida in March, we're just being greedy

DLP is still developing so its not as big of WDW and of course theres the weather however its what you make of it! I've enjoyed it. The market tends to be people with young families although I went with work on a mega fam (500 Travel Agents) and we had a fantastic time!

We have just come back from Disneyland Paris. We went with Leger Hoildays. The price was really cheap and I would highly recommend them.

Leger are in the next town to us so their picks are very local and what I've seen of their prices they seem reasonable too.

I've put together a 4 day trip for us for £800 - that's flying with Air France from Newcastle, 3 nights at the holiday inn, and annual passes. All booked seperately
the holiday inn is 120 Euros / night including breakfast whcih I think is a really good price.

Ps - this is a useful website for checking cheap flight prices,
http://www.skyscanner.net/month/glas/cdg/jul/jul/cheap-flights.html
but also check the bigger airlines, as in our case Air france were nearly the same price and much better flight times than easy jet

Hi
Thanks everyone. Just off to look up some of your suggestions now.
Lynn:D
Hi Lyn,
We went with Ledger holidays last year, very good and very reasonable. Can do by coach or train later is better as you can go straight to the terminal at DLP. We stayed at the Sequoia Lodge VERY NICE. good luck with the booking
Had a similar problem trying to find a cheap way to vist DLP, but eventually after much searching we booked the following:-
Flights with jet2.com for £50.00 each return from Leeds Bradford to CGD.
For cheap Eurpoean flight deals we looked at SkyScanner.net
As has been said before the Airport Shuttle with VEA.fr is only €14 each way.
We booked MyTravel Explorers with Expedia.co.uk at £68.00 per night for 4 bedded room (it's on the route of the 54 bus).
It's going to be the kids first visit (boys 4 & 2) can't wait :jump:
How do you book the character breakfasts?
disneylandparis.com/uk/good_to_know/tickets_entrees_park/packages_and_options/breakfast.htm
can you pre-book or do you have to do it on site?
