View Full Version : What WOULD you like free with your theme park tickets ?

As many of you will be aware a healthy debate has been running on a previous thread regarding the merits of the complimentary Planet Hollywood meals offered on our Disney and FlexTicket sales. We have put time aside early next week to discuss whether to continue with the free offer and whether an alternative freebie or just cheaper prices would be of better benefit to you. We know the offer does work and Planet Hollywood get very positive feedback at the restaurant but is there something better ?
Something too good to turn down ?

We would be very interested to hear from Dibb members whether there is an alternative free attraction/meal/excursion that would be more appealing.
Normally we think along the lines of a meal, dinner show or minor attraction but maybe there is something exciting that we have missed.

We've come up with the following options so far.........does anyone have any other suggestions ?

14 Day WaterMania pass
Pirates Cove Adventure Golf
Arabian Nights Dinner Show
Pirate's Dinner Adventure
Hard Rock Cafe meal
I'Ride trolley passes
Gatorland
Cypress Gardens
Wonderworks
Ripley's Believe It or Not
An alternative restaurant chain meal offer

Obviously free flights, car hire, Disney Premium/Ultimate, FlexTickets etc are not possible - no doubt sales would soar but we'd be out of business in a week !

We look forward to hearing your comments.

Best regards,

My preference would be the I Ride trolley passes - I think they are invaluable and even while staying in Disney we used them all the time. I realise they would not be for everyone but maybe you could offer 2 or 3 choices and it would be take your pick. :D

If I had to have a freebie I'd choose the Pirates Cove golf.

Personally I'd rather have cheaper tickets without a freebie

I would prefer the best price for the tickets rather than subsidising for add on extra's. Honestly, I wouldn't use any if those on offer but I know other people would use them. I personnally wouldn't visit any of those attractions.

Personally I'd prefer additional benefits on the tickets I purchase like the 3 days for the price of two on the Universal tickets or maybe additional days at the minor Disney parks.

Otherwise just make the tickets the cheapest there are.

Thanks for asking

Cheapest price possible without the freebies.
It would also be great if you could offer Disney Tickets for less than 5 Days. I currently require a 3 day ticket with a hopper add on in June, and my only option appears to be to purchase from a US seller.

Cheaper tickets here aswell :)

Agree about the WDW tickets, I am looking for a 3 or 4 day hopper:)

I think it would be a good idea to offer a range of options for customers to take their pick including a cheaper price for tickets only with no extras. Most people who shop around will be tempted by the cheapest price for the tickets they wish to purchase, providing they can trust the seller to offer a good level of service too.

I would prefer to have the cheapest tickets possible with the best service possible.

I am not really interested in getting freebies but if push came to shove I would prefer a meal voucher or adventure golf.

The only thing that would make me use a more expensive company would be their reputation and service not necessarily a freebie.

I think I would have to agree with the cheaper prices. Also what about offering a point system like airmiles that you can gain for the tickets you buy. Just a suggestion.

I agree cheaper!!!!

Thankyou for asking, it is nice when a company actually thinks of these sorts of things. However customer service must rank paramount as well!!!!!

Cheaper prices, otherwise I would feel that I definitely had to put time aside to use the freebie as that was what we had paid that little bit extra for.

I would say cheaper tickets

but and its a big but.... that would not benefit your company as I would get my preferred supplier to price match..

So I think that your best bet is to stick with the freebie.. maybe a cinema ticket would sway my choice of supplier

that said you have made it sound like you incorporate the freebie into the prices which means it is not technically free..bad move imo

Also as i am looking to buy 8 x 5 park flex and 8 x 21 day Disney a very decent group discount would be appreciated, as at the moment I would be better off purchasing them in smaller amounts to claim the £5 off per purchase over £350 odd pounds or whatever it is..

I mean if spending over £2000 you should offer a decent discount

Good customer service first and foremost then cheaper tickets for me, but if a freebie maybe you could include a cinema ticket for the universal complex.

Your posting was much appreciated

Personally - cheaper tickets

I liked the meal voucher idea, but I would always choose a company recommended for good service over saving a few pounds.

cheaper tickets as not everyone will get the benefit of certain freebies. and a 3 day hopper ticket would be good. if you really want a freebie then cinema tickets are used by the majority of people. imho.

Cheaper tickets/extra days - none of the 'freebies' (and I use the term loosely) listed above would appeal to me :)

16 May 05, 12:35 AM
1- Cheaper tickets
2- Fewer days on WDW tickets
3- Meal freebie (that is swaying us to purchase Flex ticket soon)
4- Some other freebie, ie Airboats etc?

That's the sort of order I'd appreciate

Good priced tickets all round , or a % discount on bookings of more than say 3 tickets. As this is what everyone looks at first and always asks.

Last years Universal tickets was great , 14 days for the price of 3 with Virgin , boy did they get some hammering , we were there every day almost for the evening , and as a reulst we actually spent way more in Universal as a result than we would have on only the 3 days.

The event tickets are ok , but plans change all the time or kids get tired so dont want to go.

Water mania seems like a good idea though if you go with something.

I like the meal option at HRC or PH. Even with this your tickets are very competively priced, and an offer is obviously one way of giving the ordinary customer the benefit of a bulk purchase.

I will probably but flextickets from your company, but for Disney tickets I like the no-expiry premium plus tickets on offer from other places, as a 7 day + 5 ticket will probably do us for 2 trips.

My vote goes to cheaper tickets BUT with really good customer service. I am always prepared to even pay a little extra for reputation and quality of service.
Adventure golf as a freebie if pushed, we usually go just as a couple, so meal vouchers are OK but not an incentive for us.

3 pages of posts of good suggestions and their answer was do do away with anything 'free' and put prices up...... not exactly good customer practice I feel.
Oh well, if they don't need our business....

Cheaper tickets please.

However, if your business model proves that a freebie brings you greater trade these are those from your list which I would see as a real worthwhile bonus...

14 Day WaterMania pass
Hard Rock Cafe meal

An alternative restaurant chain meal offer
(perhaps if it were one I liked. Chilis. Olive Garden. Bahama Breeze. Not, for me, Ponderosa or GC)

Dear Dibb members

We appreciate your responses on this thread.

Yes, unfortunately, our prices have gone up recently. The reason for this increase is the weakening of the pound against the dollar exchange rate. We constantly review our prices in relation to fluctuations in the markets.

We value your opinions and are looking into the feasibility of some of the ideas put forward by members and also those from general enquiries to our website.

Yours sincerely

i have saved £42 on my flex tickets by going elsewhere.and you say your prices have gone up because of the weakening of the pound againsed the dollar.you are talking cents here. and your flex tickets are £7 dearer than where i got mine from.
just another poor excuse from a greedy firm.
and by the way the money i saved will pay for me to have a meal in planet hollywood.(or near enough).

I would have preferred my tickets 2-3 weeks before my departure - this is what you tell people on the phone - instead of 24hrs before my departure - You put us through a lot of stress because of this - how about just sending out the tickets when they are paid for and you won't get bad press on this site.

I won't be using you again, I don't think my stress levels could take it but - for other people using your company I think that it would be good to offer an I-trolley ticket of just have your prices reduced.

I think you need a good offer and some good prices to win back some of the business you have lost as a result of your poor customer service. I was on the verge of buying from you last week but then read on the Dibb how several people had horror stories of having to hassle you for delivery of their tickets. I eventually went elsewhere and saved quite a lot of money by doing so. Clearly not everyone is putting up their prices because of the exchange rate! Many people like me, just wouldn't trust you unless you make the deal attractive enough for them to take the risk.

29 Jul 05, 04:13 PM
I think Iwould prefer a reduction in the actual park tickets themselves, but if this is not an option for your company then how about giving your customers a selection of offers that they can chose one in particular, not the ones that you chose for them.
Just a suggestion.

I would like good customer service and communication would be nice.

Also the day you take money from a credit card you should be able to ship the tickets the same day WITHOUT FAIL, or don't take the money!

Simple business really.

Many of you seem very critical - Best 4 are way cheaper than your typical supplier - eg Virgin or Kieth Prowse.
I would suggest instead of a freebie you offer bulk buying discount, you know 5% off if you buy 2 tickets, 10% off for 5 etc.
Or buy a 7 day hopper & get a sea world / busch garden at a cheaper rate etc.

Twinkle

Have to disagree about price. There are cheaper (and more reliable, customer friendly) ticket sellers out there.

I, for one am not bothered by freebies but if you take my money on a monday then you need to despatch my tickets on the same day.

stevejnr292
17 Oct 05, 10:18 PM
Much cheapness please!

Perhaps trying something different with the tickets might make them more appealing. What I mean by this is having a ticket that the customer can custom-make. A wide choice of things to put onto the ticket but having the ability to pick and choose the ones they want, instead of having ones that they won't generally pick or are not really interested in.
As well as good customer service you need to have a gimmick that makes people buy your tickets rather than somebody elses.:wink
