Where was the crash? I was thinking of booking warbirds for my other half for his birthday as he wanted to do it last year but we never got round to it. I wasn't keen on him doing it and this just makes me more nervous.
Debbie
Orlando sentinel described it as a remote area of east Polk County.
I want to do this next time we are in florida, I am going to wait and see what the investigation has to say.
We did the mash flight a couple of weeks ago, what a tragic accident.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of both men. RIP

Terrible thing to happen to all involved :(
We almost went to Warbirds at the end of April but a screwup over the delivery of our Tux's meant I had to turn the day upside down.
Although hardly relevant, I can't see the Mrs allowing me to go on this now.

This is terrible news :(
Jon was the pilot that Louise flew with last year, flying the plane that crashed, he was a great bloke.
You have a paracute and get briefed on how to bail out when things go wrong, plus you fly quite high up, must have been a catastrophic failure of the airframe.
Only other thing I can think of is since the other guy was a pilot, not a normal tourist, maybe they were flying lower than we were.

He was pilot that Nic flew with. Deeply saddened by this.
Tragic news.
My wife Trudi has booked me a flight for my 40th birthday for when we are in Orlando in August and I was so over the moon when she told me. This could explain why she was still waiting for confirmation this week.
I was involved in the aftermath of a helicopter crash last year ( one I worked on, thankfully no fatalities ) but sadly lost a good friend in another crash a few months ago and the gut wrenching feeling you get at the news is horrible.
Sincere condolences to the families and all at Warbirds.
Iain.

It's looking like it was a wing failure a few minutes after takeoff so they woundn't have gained much height before it happened.

Warbirds update
UPDATE Thursday May 19, 2005
Based on the preliminary NTSB metallurgical report we are in the process of performing dye penetrant tests on our remaining fleet. If they come out clean, we will be up in the air in a few days. We urge all operators to do the same. If you need the procedure explained to you, please contact Thom Richard at our office.
