Well after months of worrying, tales of bruises, colonic irrigations and lost bikinis - I braved Summit Plummet, Bomb Bay and Der Stuka!!

First off was Bomb Bay - you stand in this capsule and the floor drops away and before you know it your into the slide plummeting down to the bottom!! I did this whilst Dave did Der Stuka (like summit plummet but not as big)....I did have a HUGE wedgie but my bikini top stayed FIRMLY PUT!! It did kinda hurt my bum though - I'd hate to be skinny going on it because even with some padding, I was in pain, lol

Then I did Der Stuka - IMHO this is worse than Bomb Bay because you have to push yourself off, wheras with Bomb Bay, you have no choice, lol. It did seem steeper aswell! But again, bikini stayed put...aside from bottom half which seemed lost forever although I did later manage to retrieve it :D

And then.........towards the end of the holiday.....came......SUMMIT PLUMMET! After queing for 30mins (there's nothing like giving you time to actually realise how high you are!!) and arguments with Dave over whether it was MK we could see in the distance (It was, but it looks SO far away!)......it came to it. In a way, it's good because you can't see how steep it is...try and look down the slide over the edge and I think you'd fall off and get more than a wedgie, lol.

But this ride - HURTS!! Forget the wedgie, this is the least of your problems - my bikini top AGAIN stayed put (HOW?!), but the amount of bruises on my legs and the worry that I'd have HUGE ones on my bum (it really did hurt) - so much for my extra holiday gained padding, lol

Saying that, alot of little kids were going on it, so maybe I'm a wimp!

Dave says it hurt me and not him because I clenched!! But as I'd read that it was "IMPORTANT TO CLENCH!!!" on my trusty DIBB...I definitely wasn't not going to, lol

Try it if you can though - just be prepared for the bruises, lol

I might do a TR...do you have to be a AP holder to get your pics in the report (as opposed to just links?)

Here's a pic of the Wet n Wild ones:

None of Summit Plummet...I blame my total fear for forgetting the camera, lol ;o)

BTW, how do you quote someone in a post???

You can just put your photos in as you go if you do a TR :D .

Just looked at your picture and reminded me of when we went in in 03, Ray and Sam did the one where the floor drops away and my other 2 boys did the other side. George bless who was 9 at the time was absolutley terrified. His little face coming down (l was at the bottom just watching LOL) was a picture. He looked looked like he was on the verge of tears but held it together. He never did go back on :D

You did - and being a fool I still tried it, lol. Lucky we did it at the end of our holiday or I'd have been walking round looking like I'd been beaten up for 14 days, lol :p:

Well done for braving these rides.

You hit the big question, to clench or not to clench.
The first time I went on I didn't and suffered the consequences.
The second time I went on and did clench only to suffer the bruised backside.
So its a case of take you pick, I personally would rather have the bruising than the colonic.

Well to be fair last time we went to florida (September 04) the only water park we went to was Blizzard beach, and yes me the the wife did summit plummit, but as you queue and there nine and ten year olds in front of you, your trying to talk yourself out of going down the thing, then you realise your old enough to be able to see reason where the kids dont seem to have fear at all, even at 40 i was a little scared especially when u can see epcot, mgm, and magic kingdom from the top, and yes it was well worth the leap of faith (wife even got the t shirt lol)

My youngest was a tiny 8 year old lightweight scrap of a boy, and he did summit plummit. Granted he is so light he barely water planed to the bottom (his knee joint is wider than the top of his thigh lol no joking). But I heard people in the queue saying if that boy isnt frightened neither am I. He laughed his head off at the bottom an if it wasnt for the 40 min wait Im sure hed have done it again straight away.
I was worried doing it but its not that bad
