We have decided to have a golf morning on our trip. Any tips on a good course??? We really dont want to be paying a fortune on green fees and club rental.

I received the following in an Orlando resident e-mail last week. They were the featured courses at the moment.
Depending on what time of year you are going you might fall on twilight discounts. When calling to make T-times ask about this and see what they say.
If you have an Entertainment coupon book there are several discounts for golfing.
Also, if you are a big golfer try stopping at a Play It Again Sports and checking out their inventory. A great place to find a bargain!

I would highly recommend Falcons Fire it is the most amazing course i have ever played, although a twilight tee time is the only way it will be cheap!!!

Falcon's Fire is roughly $70, $50 or $40 depending on how late you start. That is pretty typical for the top courses. Clubs usually go for around $45.

I'm looking into a round of golf too.
However i'm intrigued by the prices of twilight golf at the disney courses, you can play for $35 at Ospreys Ridge if you tee off after 3pm.
Any suggestions about the heat/humidity at this time in the afternoon? Light will be ok.
Is this do-able?

The other thing to remember is the afternoon thunderstorms. With Orlando being the lightning capital of the world you don't want to be caught out on the course when a thunderstorm starts.
If I was booking I would do the back 9 at twilight.
definetly booked got conformation and all that
I'm in the high handicapper group, but played Lake Bunea Vista some time ago, its very good. I have read that the greens are in excellent condition.
I'm booked for LBV and Eaglepines this year.
The disney courses have a price break at 10 and 5 and various discount for Ap and DVC. Since last there I understand they have fitted GPS to the buggies so that you can tell how far to the pin. (nothing so far to help me find my balls :p: however as there are 4 gators and sevrel types of snakes on LBV I'm not looking to far ib the bushes

Tehre is an excellent course on International Drive. Very reasonable rates for twilight.

Sorry there is also a better (but slightly more expensive) course at Hunters Creek.

gators & snakes - sorry then - no golf for me in Florida - although what an incentive to slow the swing down and keep the ball on the fairway!

Osprey Ridge is my favorite Disney course. It's also in a peaceful setting, it feels as though you are miles from civilisation.
Panther Lake at Orange County National (off the 192) is another fantastic course, good value too :)

not sure when you go in September but
The Magnolia Golf Course is closed now until September 10, 2005. Work on the course will include resurfacing greens, laser-leveling tees, extending tee boxes and building new tee boxes, all in preparation of the FUNAI Classic to be held in October.
