Hi Mac

What would you like to know, my daughter aged 11yrs old did it last year. They were very good and looked after her well, only problem was being their at 5.45 am depending on what time Typhoon Lagoon is due to open that day. :jump:

Hi mac,

my other half did this on our last trip in October 04. He absolutely loved it. You have to be there very early in the morning though, I think it was around 7am.
They give you some tuition on dry land first then you go out in groups of two into the main pool. Then they help set you up in the water and let you go on a wave (reduced from the normal big wave that you get at TL). You get 2 turns in a row and you are required to paddle back on your board to the start point after the first turn, before the wave starts again. You usually get around 6-8 x2 turns at this. It can be quite tiring and is a good idea to be a competent swimmer. You do not get much time on the wave so try and stand up as soon as you can.
Oh and one more thing my other half says to follow the advice about tucking your head in as you fall off the board!! ouch!!

Good fun though!

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. Pixie and Kim

It's good to hear from people who have done it rather than the advertising.

It's an early start, but at least we'll be able to get a good spot:D
