Here is the info from the WDW website
Extra Magic Hours
Each day one of the Disney Theme Parks opens an hour early or stays open up to three hours after regular park closing, so Disney Resort Guests* can enjoy easy access to select attractions — even the most popular ones! With Extra Magic Hours, you can make the most of your vacation time and see and do everything at an easy, relaxed pace.
If you want to take advantage of this benefit and have a Magic Your Way Base Ticket, your Theme Park selection must be the Park offering the Extra Magic Hours benefit that day. Remember, you can only visit one Theme Park per day with the Magic Your Way Base Ticket. To get the most out of the Extra Magic Hours benefit, just add the Park Hopper® Option to your ticket. Then you can go from Theme Park to Theme Park on the same day, including whichever Park has Extra Magic Hours

Hi Traceyt
We used the extra magic hours last week whilst at a disney hotel and we could stay at the magic kingdom until midnight.
Ask at your disney hotel for the up-to-date leaflet on what park opens early/stays open late.
All you need to do is show your park ticket & room key and collect a band from selected areas around the park, details of locations are on the leaflets.
Have fun

Hi Alba,
Did you have a 'magic your way ticket' or a 14 day ultimate hopper ticket?
Hi gadget,
We had a hopper ticket, but it was one of the old one 10 day hopper tickets that we bought around 3 years ago, where the unused days never expire....yep still using it :D

hi tracyt
you will find which parks are open for emh on the disney website - take a look at the calendar. it will be a separate calendar for each park and will give you daily opening times and emh will be marked in box for each day the park is open early/late. you don't need a band for the early morning hour (just room key/card) and you need to get a wrist band for the extra 3 hours in evenings. you can only get these from 2 hours onwards before normal park closing times. you will need a ticket to get in - if you buy a one day pass at disney then you need to use it at the park which is open for emh that am/pm or else you need to include park hopping which is extra cost. best to get a park hopper before you go. you can then visit any park and go to the emh park morning and evening if you wanted to. different parks open each day with a different one in am and a different one pm.
hopes this is not too confusing!!
ps you will need to keep checking the calendar as i think the emh have only been released for september - not sure if octobers are out yet.

Depending on the time of year and which park EMH can be busier than normal. There's an awful lot of beds on Disney property

There are very mixed reports about it. If you're staying off site, or you don't want to use it, then it's usually a good idea to avoid the park that's open early or late that day.
