Okay I need some suggestions for this one.

My DM has today phoned me and offered me the chance for me and my 2 girls to go away somewhere for a few days in the summer hols (Mon-Fri). This is totally out of the blue as she has never spent more than a few hours in their company since before the youngest (3) was born! Probably be the last time she does too so we better make the most of it.

We live in Essex but don't want to travel too far (no more than 3 hours) - any ideas for somewhere really nice with lots to do? I even thought maybe DLP but I think that will probably be really expensive in July-August???

Any suggestions welcome..............

DLP might not work out that expensive from your location and I think in July they are doing kids go free on certain dates so that could bring the price down further. Ask Cindersmum to price something up for you. Or you could try on the Centerpark locations, there's loads for kids and adults to do and the self catering cabins are really roomy and good value (at least the ones at Longleat are!)

If you are considering DLP and driving the Euro tunnel is really quick and easy. Or what about Legoland.
