Hi everyone,
We are planning on going to WDW september however we just have to purswade DMother to go. As she doesn't like theme parks can anyone suggest any other things to do away from the parks for a lovely mother.
We are already hopping to do Boggy Creek, but need some more idea's to convince her!
Many thanks
Donna :wink
Hi Donna,
Is your mum into shopping? Lots of that to do!!
Also it may be an idea to invest in a good guide book like the Brits Guide to Orlando, which is full of ideas. Maybe you can get one and give it to your mum so she could have a look through it at her leisure and see for herself the many activities outside the parks. She could then choose for herself where she might like to go.
Hope this helps!

Scenic Boat Tour up at Winter Park and then a wander around the shops up there. It's lovely.
What about one of the local parks too, such as Turkey Lake Park. We haven't managed to get there ourselves yet, buut it was something that was pencilled in on our last trip and will be again on the next. There are meant to be lovely parks around the big lakes in the area.
Cirque du Soleil - she can't fail to be impressed by that.
And finally, Disney's Wilderness Preserve.

We are planning a trip to Celebration the Disney town, never been before but I have heard there are rocking chairs around the lake, theres a bus tour around Celebration and I am sure theres a proper market on Sundays.
Others should help in confirming this.
We don't have a car when we go and I am sure there a LYNX bus that goes from Disneys TTC.

How about a tour of some of the WDW resorts as they are all beautiful in their own way? You could treat her to afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian.
Would she enjoy a day at the beach?
Leu Gardens sounds lovely too.
How about a shopping trip in a limo?

How about Silver Springs? Not really a theme park as such and quite relaxing compared to Disney/Universal.

Enjoy and come visit our friends at Sherlock’s of Celebration, an English Tea room in downtown Celebration. They are a premier retail shop specializing in purveying exclusively selected gourmet teas, coffees, fine wines, beers, pastries, savories, American and European cuisine, handcrafted beverages and Sherlock Holmes memorabilia. When you visit tell them PGCelebration sent you.

I would recommend reading some trip reports for ideas - I have booked Cirque du Soleil after reading so many good things about it on here
There`s loads to offer in Orlando besides the theme parks. The Grand Floridian for afternoon tea, Celebration, Disney`s Boarwalk, Downtown Disney, Boggy Creek, Silver Springs, shopping malls, Winter Park etc. The list is endless!

Has she ever been to a Disney or Universal theme park? My father was dreading the trip in 2001 - he kept saying it's just a big fairground. He loved it, every minute of it, his best holiday ever.
