I live in Celebration Florida, the town that was designed and built by Disney. As you plan for your holiday, remember to consider visiting our downtown area where we have some wonderful boutique shops, restaurants and a British tea room called Sherlock’s of Celebration. (The Sherlock’s people are 2 British couples and have become great friends)
This year our July 4th celebration is actually going to take place the entire weekend, beginning July 2nd when we have a world premier of a new animated movie that was done entirely here in Celebration. There will be 2 fantastic firework displays on July 2nd, after the movie preview and then on July 4th. If you have not experienced an all American 4th of July celebration, then come join us. If you have any questions, please contact me.

That sounds great, we are looking forward to spending our first 4th July in Florida. What is the timing of the firework displays?

We have lived in Celebration a couple of years and thoroughly enjoy it. The people are wonderful, downtown is within walking distance and we have miles and miles of walking paths. We are fortunate to live here. I’ll post some pictures later this weekend.
This is the Sherlock’s of Celebration website.

I know they are in the process of updating it. Yes definitely stop in for some tea and great premium beers, scones and the best desserts in the area… and let them know you heard about them at DIBB.

Enjoy and come visit our friends at Sherlock’s of Celebration, an English Tea room in downtown Celebration. They are a premier retail shop specializing in purveying exclusively selected gourmet teas, coffees, fine wines, beers, pastries, savories, American and European cuisine, handcrafted beverages and Sherlock Holmes memorabilia. When you visit tell them PGCelebration sent you.

Thanks very much :D
We will be there for 4th July (arriving 29th June) . This will be our first visit, so how do we get to Celebration using public transport as I don't drive?
Would love to see the 2nd July fireworks.

Hi PG
We come from Northern Ireland and have been going to Celebration for about the past 5/6 years each time we go to Orlando. We love it and would love to live there. We visited the first 'show house' and it was amazing and very good value at that time however the house prices are now a lot higher. We love the shops (especially Soft as a Grape) and usually eat in the Market Street cafe or whatever it is called. Called into Sherlocks last year however it is quite small and quite expensive. Love the Celebration Hotel. Have been there for 4th July. Usually there is nobody about the streets or houses when we go however the 4th July is packed with people and there is a better atmosphere then. Will be there again this year on 4th July however I don't think we'll stay for the fireworks as it gets so crowded and there is nowhere really to sit.
Hope the weather is good for us all.
I loved visiting Celebration in February unfortunately I had Flu and didnt see as much as I would have liked - we plan on a revisit next Feb.
The doggy weekend was on when we were there and I fell in love with a gorgeous German Shepherd needing rehomed - I didnt think immigration would have liked it if I'd tried to bring him home on Virgin though.

It wouldnt be much, Debbie, as the entrance to Celebration is directly opposite Water Mania (the town centre is a mile or so from here). No more than $10 I would have thought.

This will be our 3rd year to spend July 4th in Celebration and it has become a must for our family . We usually take a picnic and join in the festivities . Imagine our delight to learn that this year it goes on for the whole weekend. The people there are so friendly , the music is great overall a day not to be missed.

We plan to pop down for a look in July. Celebration reminds me of Stepford Wives, we considered buying a place there before we found our villa! We like the Market Street Cafe and next time Sherlocks is on the list. We had no room for afternoon tea last trip! Christmas is a nice time to visit too.....especially with all the snow!
We were originally going to visit celebration on the 2nd July, but due to other plans we are now going on the 3rd, will there be a lot going on that day and how do we get there using public transport?
Thanks

I love Celebration and we always visit on our first morning after arriving - it's become a ritual to have coffee from Barney's sat on a rocker on the boardwalk!
I hope heaven was based on Celebration!

Hello everyone. Update on the July 2nd-4th Celebration in Celebration. On Saturday July 2nd from 2-9 pm they are having a world movie premier of Tugger. Please see the following link for a great website, schedule of the days events and parking info.
http://www.tuggerjeep.com/
It is my understanding that the local bus service LINX will provide regular bus service to Celebration Place, where you can then pick up the bus and come into Celebration ( the cost of the bus for a car load of people is $5.00 per car. The reason they are using a bus system is because they are expecting upwards of 35-40,000 people and the town's parking could not handle it. This is a very well coordinated project and should get everyone in and out of town with the least amount of problem.
It is my recommendation that you plan on arriving early and come on into town and enjoy our beautiful lakefront, fountains, restaurants and stores….remember our good friends at Bloom Street Trading Company, say hi to New Mom and Dad, for some great gifts and right next store are our good friends who own Sherlock's of Celebration, wonderful Brits who have become great friends and neighbors in our community......stop on in for a tea, beer, wine and wonderful desserts….Tell both shops that PG Celebration sent you.
Hope to see you .
Also. Remember we are having our annual 4th of July event and fantastic fireworks display.

In the last post I forgot to tell everyone that the voice of Tugger is Jim Belushi. He will be in Celebration on July 2nd and his band: The Sacred Hearts, will be playing with him.

We went on 4th July and it was so busy!! We couldn't get parked and idiots were parking on both sides of the road! We drove around the quieter parts and looked at the new houses - and saw an Armadillo!
Police cut the area off about 9pm as it was too full.
