Surf Lessons (Beaches, Typhoon Lagoon)

i wanted to take surfing lessons whilst in Florida, has anyone done this or can recommend whether to go the the beaches or to Typhoon Lagoon?

also does anyone have any information on it such as prices and times?

Here's an email I got from Disney about typhoon lagoon.

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

We are pleased to offer Craig Carroll's Cocoa Beach Surfing School at DISNEY'S TYPHOON LAGOON Water
Park. Classes are offered Monday, Tuesday & Friday mornings from 6:30am - 9:00am for up to 13
people. Spectators are welcome. The class consists of 1/2 hour of landside instruction and 2 hours
of water instruction. Soft-side surfboards are provided.

Guests will need to provide transportation to DISNEY'S TYPHOON LAGOON Water Park. Disney buses will
be operating after the class to take guests back to the Walt Disney World Resort or to other
locations at Walt Disney World.

The cost for this program is $135 per person. Participants must have strong swimming skills and be
at least 8 years of age. For further information and reservations, please call WDW-PLAY

The Typhoon Lagoon lessons are great fun.. Its an early start for the day but well worth it... the wave pool is set a little stronger than it is for normal swimming and the supervision is excellent...
It took me a little while but I eventually managed to stand up and ride the wave... the wife just ended up riding on her knees..

It really takes it out of you.. all that paddling against the waves.. my arms ached for the next day or so... (and I actually do keep fit-ish)

We spent the half day recovering at typhoon lagoon and the second half shopping... But toi re-iterate... It was a wonderful experience and great fun.
