I found this site as a couple of our party are keen on going fishing. They are based in Clearwater and it seems ideal for us as we are planning to stay overnight there and then the fishermen can get up and go fishing and the others can lie in then have fun on the beach!

Looks quite good value too.

This is information I put together last year for some family. Please keep in mind that this is last years prices and they could have changed. See the websites for actual pricing.

Also, please note that I do not know these people I just knew how to find the information. Although it is not shown below Boggy Creek Airboat Rides also have a fishing option. They are expensive but have always had a good experience wth them.

Hello to all fellow fishermen (or fisherwomen).

I have not been on this board in over six months. I should check here more often because this is a great bulletin board.

About fishing at WDW, I can only tell you from personal experience. I fished for many years at WDW while vacationing there and then I retired and moved to Florida. I have some of my fondest memories of my WDW vacations while fishing there with my son. Back then Disney did not have organized fishing excursions as they do now and I marched through their manicured flowers and shrubs and trecked down paths, that I was probably not supposed to go to as a guest but I never got caught, and caught fish all over Disney. I do not think they would tolerate you doing that now because there is an organized fishing program. When I was on vacation in the most recent years I hired a guide at Disney and caught some large fish and had a splended time. After I moved to the Disney area I took a job as a Captain at Boggy Creek Airboats for a couple of years and one day I found out there was an opening at WDW for a fishing guide position so I applied. A wonderful thing happened, I was hired as a guide and now I get to make magic for other people on vacation at WDW. Yes it is a little expensive but some families share the cost with another family that they know and the price can be more tolerable. You can have up to five people on the boat at once for the same price and all the tackle, bait, drinks (water and soft drinks) are included. Since you are on private property at WDW you do not need to purchase a fishing license either. There can be some tough days fishing at WDW, just like anyplace else, but we usuall do well. It is great to meet all the people from all over the world when they come to WDW and they usually are in such great moods to be there on vacation having fun.

Yes, I still Captain the boat at Boggy Creek Airboats because that is so much fun but now I split my time between there and WDW. Fishing is my passion so say hello if you see me fishing with the mouse. I hope this did not sound like an advertisement I am just trying to pass on my personal experiences and some behind the scenes information. If you are interested in fishing at WDW just ask at the resort of your front desk or call 407-WDW-BASS.

don't know if this will be of any use but we had one of best days at Camp Mak in Lake Wales you can hire a boat to go on the lake or just fish from the side it was great. We didn't catch much but the boys caught little ones and we all really enjoyed it - it was really different so laid back and friendly and it was like stepping back in time - like you see on films

Bob and Dawn,

That is great that you booked a trip fishing with the mouse. I hope you have a great time and catch lots of fish. Ask your guide if I am working that day I would love to say hello. The water should be cooled to a good temperature when you are here so many fish in the fall get feeding heavily to prepare for winter. It can be a great time to fish.

Good luck,

Gerry
