Discovery Scheduled To Roll To Launch Pad

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Space Shuttle Discovery is being prepared to roll again to its launch pad at NASA's Kennedy Space Center early this morning.

Discovery rolled to the launch pad on April sixth, but was rolled back. NASA was concerned with the possibility of ice forming at two particular spots on the tank once it's filled with super-cold fuel.

yesterday, Discovery's cargo is scheduled to roll to the launch pad ahead of the shuttle. The cargo includes a new stabilizing gyro for the International Space Station.

The spacecraft is being readied for liftoff in mid-July. It will be the first shuttle flight since the Columbia disaster two-and-a-half years ago.

wicked - so there's a chance it may still be ready to go for when I go to florida on the 18th Sept

I did see one when I was 18 with my parents in mid 96 I believe it was, to be honest I can't remember which shuttle it was - an important one for the time apparently.....launced in the early hours and lit up the sky which looked great......here's hoping for a repeat performance for the girlfriend :)

Looks like there's a problem with the shuttle, watching it on the tv now, but it looks like they may still launch

A problem with the external fuel tank's eco-sensors has scrubbed today's planned launch. The astronauts are getting off the shuttle.

A similar problem surfaced during an earlier fueling test, reported WESH 2 News space specialist Dan Billow.

Two of the shuttle's four fuel sensors need to be tested, reported NASA TV. Until they start checking the equipment, engineers do not know how long the launch might be delayed.

My neice it s gutted - was looking forward to watching this tonight!
