Silver Springs is north of Orlando. You can use the toll road to
wildwood,or use the US 27,to Ocala. We went their a few years
ago,and it was a good day out.Usually Mc Donalds in Orlando
do good deals with a ticket voucher

I would check their web site to see if there is any upto date info on the place. We went October and thought it was terrible. It had suffered hurricane damage but we were talking to some locals who advised that it had changed owners and the local county was imposing terms on the park. We thought the animals were kept in poor conditions and it wasnt clean like the disney parks. It is a long drive took us about 1.5hr from Kissimmee for not a lot!. Also bear in mind its not open every day of the week so if you do go make sure its open!

Personally its not worth the entrance fee!!!
Dirty, run down, , nothing special , cheap back street park, Its not in Disney's league, and I know its not supposed to but it wasnt worth the long drive!!!

That is such a shame as I havent been there for a few years and enjoyed the lovely springs and glass bottom boats.. they didn't have exotic animals back then, just a few deer etc that seemed to be in large enclosures.. The food has always been terrible but the natural spring was gorgeous and the racoons and wildlife were in abundance...
I mean it obviously was never Disney, as that is manufactured, but it was still a lovely escape from the rush of the theme parks

Hmmm, This has interesting reading for us.
We went there a few years ago and had a fantastic day there.
(glass bottom boats etc) and found the park clean and tidy and the animals well kept.
Seem's now though that the new owners have 'let things go', and the other comments here have put us off going back.
But theb things may change in the time we have to wait before we go :D

We went in 2001 and it was the highlight of our holiday. So when our friends went to Florida last year we recommended highly that they visit Silver Springs too. They hated it - it was the low point of their trip, and I don't think they're speaking to me yet...
