I want to book a balloon flight before we go as a suprise in October, anyone know who the cheapest would be?

Thanks

I think www.bobsballoons.com seem to be the cheapest as they offer a discount for online bookings. Not tried them myself but just looking at booking a suprise flight for my hubby in September - have sent a couple of e-mails and had responses straightaway so quite impressed so far.

Prices in dollars $155 - which with the good exchange rate i think will be about £85

Thanks, I will try them. So far the prices I have got are £267.00 with Keith Prowse and £273.00 with Selego for 2 adults and 1 child aged 12.

Attraction Tickets Direct were competitive, they were £99 per person and I think £59 for a child, they will also price match.

We have booked with Bobs Balloons for the 18th September, they have been great, answered our Q straight away via e mail, i have every faith in them that we will have a great flight. I also like the fact that they dont charge your CC until after the flight.

we flew orange blossom balloons, they excepted our 16year old as a child, as we booked when she was 15. The original date was cancelled due to it being to windy, but they just add more balloons on another day if you are able to change your day. My one piece of advice about balloon flight, in 4 visits to Florida we have never been bitten by insects, standing around in the takeoff and landing sites we were bitten to pieces, so would advise people to wear insect repellant.

We flew with Bluewater balloons and I cannot recommend them enough. Unlike Orange Blossom, you have a max of 4 people and the pilot in the balloon, so it's nice not to have tonnes of people with you. We were picked up from our hotel and taken back for free, had an amazing 1 1/2 hr flight, and a gorgeous picnic in the field where we landed.

I know Bob's balloons may be a little cheaper, but Don (owner of Bluewater) highlighted that Bob has simply copied everything bluewater do (free etched champagne glass, picnic, photo and certificate) and don't have nearly as much flying experience. He wasn't slagging them off - far from it, he was very dignified considering this company is a competitor...he said what he normally does is explains to people what service Bluewater offer and they can usually see it's a bit more personal that their competitors.

Give them a call, you WON'T be disappointed!

I can reccommend bobs baloons very much...bob will try and fly for as long as possibble...our trip last year took us from oldtown to flight of fantasy...bout an hour and 15 mins, one or 2 others they fly along side also land there where as others tend to curtail and land at wallaby

hi, another vote for bobsballoons. quick reply to my email too. not sure how much it is per person but you can book a basket for yourself (not sure how many each basket holds). i was quoted $530 (2ad and 1 ch). this includes tax and transport. they will pick you up at hotel and drop you off wherever you want. i have not decided yet on doing this as it is a very very early start although you are finished by 10am so can catch up on some sleep then.

we did bluewater ballons last year I emailed owner Don as we wanted to renew or vows for $500 he renewed our vows and gave us a beautiful certifacte and photos over and above the glasses etc that was for 2 adults & 1 kid & 1 teenager there where only us 4 plus Don in basket hen we saw others all crammed into their baskets it looked pretty uncomfortable, as for Bobs Balloons we met him and he seemed pretty frindly he was contracted by Don that day as they ll work pretty closely together hen weather means they have to cancel etc, its a great exp just remember its real not theme park etc we found that out on landing and we found out Don can certainly fly

highlander - how did the "renewing your vows work" & who done it & where (1000 questions! ). this is something we have wanted to do for a few years now and i wouldn't consider doing anywhere on disney/orlando. we will be there on our anniversary this yr - would be interested in some info please. the $500 was very good price for 4 of you in your own basket.
thanks for any info you can give

Mmmm, in close comparison, when buying anything a car ect, all manufacturers take from others their most sellable features.

I am sure we will have a superb flight with Bobs balloons evern with the copied extras.:o:

I'm sure if I'd have flown with Bob's, I'd be saying "I'll never fly with anyone but them" - I think when you have a good trip with one company, you kind of become biased towards them. But like highlander says, you'll have a great time with either company!

When we went ballooning in may we went with orange blossom balloons. We cannot fault thier service. they were all friendly and great fun. You meet them at a hotel on 192, they then take you to the launch area.

When we arrived at the launch area bluewater arrived shortly after, we took off before bluewater and they shortly followed, we had a wonderfull flight and 11 balloons were in the air that day and it looked wonderful in the early morning sun seeing all those balloons, when we came to land orange blossom balloons all landed in the right area but bluewater tried to land and 2 of thier balloons overshot the landing. All in all it was a great balloon flight that we will be doing again when we go back.

I don't think it's a case of overshooting the landing - ballooning relies on the wind, and if the wind wasn't right for the landing, they can't land. I'd prefer them to get me down safely than rush the landing!

9 out of the 11 balloons in the air that day landed within the same field 2 of bluewater were trying to come down in the same area, and the field had plenty of room for them. If you would have seen it you would have said they overshot, as at the very last minute they had to turn the burners back on, did not look good at all from where we were standing but as you say as long as they get you down in one piece, thats all that matters, and if they throw in a white knuckle ride at the same time as landing thats fine, but not for me im afraid. i am sure this happens to all balloon companies one time or another

I don't think there's any need to be so sarcastic. Maybe you could quote the bit where I said they should be shut down?
