crowne plaza location

Hi All

I am staying at the crowne plaza and wondered firstly if anybody else has stayed at this hotel?

secondly, I have been trying to find a map of what resturants we have near us. I do not want to wonder to far for breakfast and dont really want to eat in the hotel.

I would also like to go to one of the visitor centres when we arrive to pick up all the coupons and park maps etc. Does anyone know the closest one of these to us???

Thirdly, how far is it to walk from hotel to International Drive?? I believe you walk along sand lake road. At what area will we be at when we walk to I-Drive??

Fourthly, How far a walk is it to the Mercardo Centre from our hotel

It will be a 5 to 10 min walk to international drive from this hotel. When you get to international drive u will be about halfway between Belz and seaworld. You will aririve on international drive where the biggest mcdonalds is and there is a Golden Corral near to that mcdonalds there will be plenty of other places to eat nearby just cant quite remember then off hand. About 20 to 30 min walk to Mercado from international drive. I have never stayed at this hotel but have read up a bit about it and i have booked it for next year

we stayed at the crowne plaza last year. As you walk along sand lake , fish bones is on your right (about 5 mins walk ) didn't eat here, but I've heard it's nice. As you get to the I drive junction, turn right for the large mc donalds ( they also have loads of coupon books- saves a visit to the tourist info ) also burger king and 7/11 are there. cross over I drive and stay on the left for outback steak house and golden coral, we had breakfast here,it's about a 10-15 min walk (we had kids so it slowed us down ). There was also a perkins or similar over the road. there are plenty of others if you take the I ride trolley, but these are closest. if you turn left straight out of the hotel and don't mind a 15/20 min walk, you can walk to wet n wild.

i could be wrong - but this map looks like the crowne plaza down i-drive south which is down bottom end towards sea world. it is almost facing the convention centre. by reading the post it sounds as if the other one is around sand lake road (or on it).
it's very confusing as there are so many of the "same named" hotels all over the place.

crowne plaza universal is the one on the corner of sand lake road, trolley stop 22 (if I remember rightly !)

We (5 of us) stayed at the Crowne Plaza Universal last August for two weeks and had a fantastic time.
The hotel is only 3-4 years old and have the most comfortable beds you will have slept on.
As far as restaurants go, you must visit Fishbones which is literally just around the corner on Sand Lake Road as you walk up to Int Drive.
For breakfast Ponderosa is about 15 mins walk away. Head up to Int Drive, turn right at the lights and keep walking toward Seaworld and you will come across it.
