I have read on a few trip reports that Trail's End at Fort Wilderness is worth a visit.

Can somebody tell me where you get the boat from, to get there from MK. - and are you leaving the Park and therefore have to get your hand stamped etc?

Cheers

You get the boat from the jetty outside the Magic Kingdom. There are notices telling you which one to use. The trip over is great on a nice day. Once you land at Fort Wilderness just follow the signs, Its to the right I think. It has a great area with rocking chairs to sit and watch the world go by with a drink. You will need a hand stamp when you leave the park.

We did this last time we visited MK. It was great to jump onboard and leave the crowds behind in the park.

Our server at Trails End was fantastic. Food was great. One of our best buffets actually.

Ive found out since that you can watch movies there too. Here is the July Movie Schedule (http://www.intercot.com/boards/ultimatebb.php?/topic/16/1001.html)

It sounds like a nice getaway, possibly in the afternoon/early evening of a day when MK has been EMHour park and gets quite crowded.

I'm going for the first time this year. Having read reports on other boards I've made a PS(or whatever they're called now) as it seems to be becoming very popular.

It is an easy way to impress the folks travelling along with you-if its your first time there or if they do no planning of their own etc.

My husband couldnt help but be impressed when I said we are going across on a boat to eat a buffet and it'll be lovely and quiet, no crowds etc. He thought I was joking. Now that you need to make ADRs or whatever, its probably more crowded but its still a lovely break.

Have fun there.

Oh, you might like to take a look at the Trails End Buffet Menu here! (http://allearsnet.com/menu/menu_teb.htm)

Great value for money in my opinon. Think Id better include it in my itinerary for this year too.

Every time we go to Florida, we have to spend our first full day at Wilderness, Starting with the Trail's End Buffet (which is awesome). I totally recommend it, its great
