Hey Guys,

This time around we have 14 day ultimate passes which allow us to go to Disney Quest. Has anyone been to it? Is it any good? Would you recommend it?

Thanks

Kai

if you like arcade games it's a must. my 2 sons aged 13 and 15 love it there. i must admit, i can only take it for about 30 mins, then i'm off. i do leave the boys there tho, as it's a completely safe environment, and, as we stay on site, they just get the bus home when they've had enough.

We went in 2000 and all loved it, we only gave it a miss in 2004 because we wanted to do other things. We will defo include this again on our next visit.
It more than just arcade games, virtual reality games and lots more it's hard to describe it really. It more than lived up to our expections and we still talk about it and can't wait to go back. Your two teenagers will love it even if it's not you cup of tea.

I loved playing the old arcade games and found it hilarious when my 15 year old nephew was frustrated that they require more skills than some playstation games ;) The Virtual Reality stuff is amazing to try. Since you've paid for it, you might as well try it :D

It's great if you've got an Ultimate ticket, then you can pop in and out as you like, whenever you're at DTD.

Sorry to be different but we really hated it! The virtual reality rides made us feel really sick. Apart from that there are loads of arcade games. Not for us, we won't be going back.

We went for the first time on our last trip. Me and DH both 37 and our two boys aged 10 & 8, all loved this place - so much so that it is one of the few places the boys have specifically requested to go back to next year.

We've never fancied it. DD's have never asked to go in and there's just so much else to do. Perhaps will try when we've been a few more times to WDW.

I like disney quest. You can access the internet, which allows you to come on the dibb. And its great if you are into arcade games.

In can be great fun!

I dont like the virtual reality rides but all the rest I love. It is noisy but we enjoy so much else there and love to just sit down and Dibb and drink coffee. There are some very reasonable places to eat as well. We usually combine DQ with a stroll round the West Side. The Virgin Megastore and the other shops are worth a visit.

We loved the place - DS is obsessed with air hockey and at $2 a game in most of the hotels, this is a great way for him to play as much as he likes. I loved all the retro games and the kids loved the virtual reality rides (I gave these a miss as they made me feel sick) Even DH had a go at the animation studio and drew a good picture of Goofey.

If it is on your ticket and you don't have to miss anything else then it's worth a look. One tip though would be not to go on a wet day as it is heaving

We've never even considered Disney Quest but after reading this thread i think we'll pay a visit on our trip!

Does anyone know how much it is? Do you pay a set fee and play as much as you like?

Thanks,

Wendy (busy packing - wooohooo!)

We like it. Good place to go if its raining, although then it does get quite busy. Steve likes it a lot more than me but I do enjoy it, especially like the virtual canoe ride, cant remember what its called. Couldn't spend more than about 2 hours in there though

There is enough to see and do at DDT, including DQ for a good 4-5 hours at least. There are some great restaurants too, like Rainforest Cafe.

I would link a trip to DQ with a half day at one of the Disney parks. If you use the free transport from your hotel on I-drive to the park, spend the day there and from the water use the Disney transport to the nearest Disney resort hotel and then from here to DQ. From DQ it would be easier to catch a cab back, maybe approx $25.

We stay on site and use DTD and DQ most nights, our kids love it and now they are older we leave them to it for a few hours and go shopping or have quiet coffee somewhere. In DQ upstairs you can have a coffee in the Cheesecake factory then use the free internet machines on the coffee tables to say hello backhome.
Big tip... try the carrot cake.

We visited here twice on our last trip and loved it...you can all split up and do whatever takes your fancy. There are some really good virtual reality games and the Pirates of the Caribbean one is amazing. There are also loads of retro games such as pacman, space invaders, defender etc. The cheesecake factory was well worth a visit...although we didn't have cheesecake we had a snack there. There is a floor in the middle which I couldn't work out though, there were loads of games where you won tickets, but I couldn't get any of them to work.....must have missed something (can anyone enlighten me!). I also spent a quiet half an hour sitting and dibbing! The kids loved the animation lessons where they got to draw Goofy with Goofy himself present, and interacting with the kids! They also made their own CDs and designed and rode their own rollercoasters! great fun....but you don't half lose time in there!

Totally Angelic - if I remember correctly, the games you described with the tickets have to be paid for. I think we bought cards and put credits on them that you then use in those games. The tickets can be traded in for 'prizes' (which were pretty rubbish I think) or I think you could add more credits. We had a great time on those games though, challenging each other at the basketball one - my nephews finally believed me when I said I used to play :D

We loved it!!

We usually went in the evening, the kids done what they wanted for a couple of hours, and we had a coffee and cake and went on the internet.

Loved it.

We all hated it apart from my 13 year old. It scared my 2 and 7 year old (especially the lift). Several of the virtual reality rides made us ill especially Aladdins carpet. Its ideal for teenagers 13-15, pants for everyone else. Very dark and no windows.

We went when our daughter was 5 (3 years ago) and we didn't enjoy it much. At the time there wasn't very much our girl could participate in. My husband is a complete computer/arcade game freak and he wasn't at all impressed with it either, but friends of ours, with children aged 9 and 11, went last year and said it was one of their holiday highlights! So i guess it's all down to personal preference. I do remember them serving the largest pizza i have ever seen in my entire life!!!

I've never benn either but thought we'd give it a go this year with DS and his friend both 14.
Could we go in in the morning then leave if necessary and return later in the day?

Also anyone know how much it is?

Hopefully they'll love it and we can get a couple of hours of peace time!!!

If you have an ultimate pass it is included, if not it costs $28-$35 to get in (that is what the disney site says, I guess they are prices for children and adults)

We went in 2003 with 3 kids 14, 12 & 10 & they all loved it - me & hubby thought it was quite good but the other couple didn't reckon much too it as they are not into games etc.

We go again end of August and the kids we are taking are 16,15,14,14 & 12 so I think they will have a whale of a time. We have the ultimate tickets too so the plan this time is that kids are old enough to leave for a few hours while the adults have a nosy round downtown disney. :D
