Which park do you spend your first full day in Orlando in?

In previous years we have always hit MK first because to us that is really "Disney" but this year we went to AK because it wasn't open the last time we went to Florida :jump:

Has to be MK, you don't feel like you are in Disney until you see that castle!

Usually MK but I've booked the Keys to the Kingdom tour for the Saturday after we arrive on the Thursday so won't want to be there 2 days running. May (shock horror) go to US or IOA as the weekend is a nono for those parks - too busy!

Every time we have been to Orlando in the past we have spent the very first day at Seaworld cos it is a lovely relaxing park to ease ourselves into the holiday... this year it will be different, I am going with my cousin and we will be going to Animal Kingdom on the first day cos she will not be able to wait any longer than need be to see her hero Balloo the bear! I have never been to AK so this will be a good choice as far as Im concerned, also as it closes at 5pm (i believe?) it will be an early dinner as we will probably be tired by then cos of the jet lag.:jump: :jump:

We've always done Seaworld first as we don't find it too taxing for the 1st full day after that long, tiring flight. Then it has to be MK as it's the most magical place and i don't feel i've truly had my Disney-Fix 'till i'm strolling down Main Street with a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye - it gets me everytime!

We did Seaworld on our first day - Not because it was our favourite - we didnt have a favourite because it was our first time. We chose to do Seaworld first because we thought it would be an easy first day. If we did our favourite on our next first day I think we would all go for either MGM or IOA.

We just chill out on our first full day - swimming, mini-golf, bit of shopping and sleeping!

water park to relax and unwind after all the extra hrs put in to save for the holiday and to recover from the flight, nothing like the wave pool to blow the cobwebs away!!

Chilling at the villa & lazing in the pool and stocking up:D MK is our least favourite park so would rather do Epcot as we find it the most relaxing.

After such a long wait the first full day has to be MK where the first thing we buy is a Disney hat for the rest of the holiday.

Must also seek out the mouse!!!!

Breakfastasaurus is a buffet style breakfast in AK with Donald, Goofy, Pluto and Mickey. Food was great and we got to meet Mickey which made a great start to the holiday. You book up to 90 days before you want to go.:D

Found this elsewhere

While you can find The Donald at various locations throughout Walt Disney World, the one place you will always find Disney's Donald Duck, is at the Animal Kingdom's Breakfastosaurus located, appropiately enough, in the Restaurantosaurus. This uniquely themed character breakfast is hosted by The Donald along with his pals, Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Pluto. Daily seatings are from 8am to 10am and features an All-You-Can-Eat breakfast buffet with Pancakes, French Toast, Scrambled Eggs, Omelets, Bacon, Sauage, Potatos, Breakfast Pizzas, Oatmeal, Toast, Bagels and other favorites. Milk, orange juice and coffee is brought to you to by your server. Prices are $16.99 for adults and $8.99 for child. Tax and tip not included.

The food at this breakfast has not gotten rave reviews over the years. This is our second time at the Breakfastosaurus. The first time a few years ago, the buffet was set up in the main dining room, now it's in the counter area which is a vast improvement as identical buffets go the entire length. This has greatly expanded the food selection and makes for shorter lines. I found the food hot and tasty and on a par with all of WDW's breakfast buffets. I love a hot breakfast with a large selection to choose from.

Character interaction at Donald's Breakfastosaurus has been described as hurried by many people. I would have to agree but with the understanding of the size of this restaurant. We were in a side room off the main dining hall and Goofy, Pluto, Mickey and Donald Duck each were introduced and visited each of the 5 groups in our room. Each table had plenty of time for photographs and autographs but not much else. Since this breakfast only lasts 2 hours, the characters are very busy as they great guests at all the tables. Keep this in mind when you go and be prepared with your cameras and autograph books. Your server will clue you in as to when the characters will be coming to your table so you won't be in the buffet line.

If you get an early PS before Animal Kingdom opens, you check in with a CM at the park's entrance. You come through the turnstiles and wait for your party's name to be called. With other early diners, you are brought back to the Restauantosaurus. There you wait for a few minutes to be seated at your table. Your server will take your drink orders and explain the process of getting your food. As in all buffets, your server will clear away plates as you empty them and as you get others to fill. Another advantage to an early PS, is seeing the Tree Of Life with no other people milling about and, after you are done eating, I would recommend going on the Kilimanjaro Safaris for an early morning trek through Africa. Many of the animals are very active in the early morning.

Donald's Breakfastosaurus accepts priority seatings up to 90 days in advance. If Donald Duck is a favorite of yours or your families, you can not miss finding him here.

I thought of going to Seaworld first day because I thought it would break all the Disney virgins into the theme park thing.

We usually try and do something not too taxing on the first day.We thought maybe Seaworld this time.In the past we have just done Downtown Disney and shopping. We did try IOA once but it was a bit too much for me and I was shattered by midday.

On the night we arrive we usually stock up at local supermarket with bottled water etc and have an early night but I've just been doing my housework and playing a WDW CD and it has the music for Illuminations on it and I just thought how brilliant it would be to check in at hotel, get something to eat and got straight to Epcot to see Illuminations. Something about that music that gives me goosebumps and brings a tear to my eye. Would be the perfect start to the holiday if I can stay awake.

I'm afraid it's straight into the thick of things for us.

I can't sit by a pool knowing that disneyworld is only 5 minutes away!

Before the children came along we used to always go to MGM first and ride the Great Movie Ride - became a bit of a tradition to start like that.

Once the children (twins) came along there is no way we couldn't start at MK! The castle just gets your vacation started in exactly the right way!

After the welcome meeting and a walk round DD, Emily wanted to do Epcot so we eventually got there after taking a bus to The Swan and the ferryboat to Epcot.
As we walked through the gates there was a huge flash of lightning, followed by an enormous clap of thunder and then the heavens opened so after taking shelter in the shop , we decided to brave the rain but it never stopped for the whole day so we never got to go on Test Track as they closed it and the wait for Soarin was 110 minutes but we did get on Mission Space and I loved it though Emily didn't like it.
We stayed till the park closed and Illuminations went ahead.
We eventually got back to the hotel around 11.30pm exhausted as I had been up since 3am that morning due to jet lag ,but I slept that night, only waking once!!!

Islands of Adventure - it's not a proper holiday until you've been thrown about like a maniac!!!
