I'm just the same. I really don't like heights and panicked big style on Dr Dooms fearfall. I was even scared on Pteranandon (sp?) fliers which is a kiddie ride at Islands of Adventure.

I've never tried the big coasters but I'm OK on Big thunder mountain as it's not up in the air. I'm also OK on Space Mountain as it's in the dark so I can't see the height of it. Don't worry about it no doubt you will be able to do things others can't through fear!

You'll be fine. There aren't all that many coasters or rides with heights and there are plenty of alternatives.

The following my SIL won't do for much the same reasons as you

MK

Space Mountain (coaster)
Splash Mountain (flume)
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (but you should try this - it's wild and fast more than high)

Epcot

none

MGM

Tower of Terror (brilliant!) (dropping!)
Rock n Rollercoaster (coaster)

AK

Primeval Whirl (coaster)
Expedition Everest (when it's open) (coaster)

IOA

Hulk (coaster)
Dr Doom (more dropping!)
Dueling Dragons (coasters)
Dudley Do Right's Ripsaw Falls (flume)
Jurassic Park River Adventure (flume)

US

Mummy (coaster with visuals - not that bad actually)

Sea World

Kraken (coaster)
Journey to Atlantis (flume)

One thing - I'm terrified of heights and the only one of those listed above that I haven't done is Dr Doom. I love ToT and the big coasters. Go figure, as the Americans say. Why not give them a try? :D

Im usually the one that watches the bags but i do go on quite a few rides im not scared of heights but wont do coasters but i do Big thunder mountain and Space mountain as i dont think there are really big drops on that but it is in the dark i can do things like Splash mountain as there is only 1 big drop and thats about all i can manage plenty of shows and 3d rides for you to see

I am wary of heights, will not look over the side of tall buildings etc as I go dizzy (so why have I booked a balloon trip lol) but do ALL the coasters in Orlando and really love them, I tend to look straight ahead though and not down!

I started a thread round these parts called "Weight vs Age: Ride apprension."

I have an odd reaction to rides and other height situations.

Some I love, some I hate.

My approach is to try my best at getting on everything (more or less) and just seeing what happens.

I have avoided ToT and Dr Deaths Freefall so far, but have done practically everything else in Disney.

I am a real coaster chicken too as I hate heights. I would just die on the lift hill of most coasters.

Even so, I found plenty of rides to enjoy including:

Rock 'n' Roller coaster (fast, launched and in the dark so no lift hill and no sense of being up high although it does go upside down)
Space mountain (another dark one)
Splash Mountain (superb ride and a great view from the top)
Tower of Terror (very high, big drops but strangely not as scary as I thought, still enough of a thrill for me)
Big Thunder Mountain (looks much scarier than it is, I can cope with the lift hill on this, not very high)
Journey to Atlantis (part flume, part coaster, looks worse than it is and not too high)
Mission Space (fabulous simulator, my new favourite)
Soarin' (great new simulator ride which does lift you up, ask for the bottom row if the height bothers you)
Spiderman (fabulous 3d simulator ride with great effects)

Rides which I won't be hurrying to repeat:

Primeval Whirl (evil ride, cross between coaster and waltzers)
Woody Woodpeckers Nuthouse Coaster (OK I hear you laughing, the ride which made me realise coasters weren't my thing, I was hyperventilating halfway up the lift hill)

Not a coaster fan here either but really want to do them! Stand underneath and look and get put off lol! Did Dr Doom last year and although i hate hieghts once i was up there and saw the view i wasn`t to scared but held on very tight! Went on the Gwazi also! Also revenge of the mummy and all the simulators. Loved Voyage to Atlantis at seaworld. Also went on the Scorpian at Busch to see what it was like to be upside down! Hoped it would give me the courage to do the Hulk etc! So maybe i can do them this time round!
Which is the best/easiest upside down one to start on?

Hey don't torture yourself!

Imagine standing on an A road, underneath a motorway bridge.

Imagine looking up at the "spraycan art" on the concrete... and above them the cars

Do you feel bad? Probably not.

They are moving faster than 99% of roller coaster cars. and they dont have the safety of great tyres and breaks..

Coasters are safe!

*convincing myself* lol

If I don't like the look of the ride then I basically don't go on it. Bit of a coward!

I loved Spiderman, got scared on ET!!! Don't like cables.
Got on King Kong realised it was a cable car sort of thing wanted to get off DH talked me round, then a shouted got up from her seat and jumped off the ride just before it started. I did though!!!
