Hi All

Can anyone recommend some good restaurants on I Drive?

We are staying here for our 1st week of our hols and dont want to end up anywhere dodgy.:D

We are looking for somewhere clean with a good range of food, I like more plain food and my boyfriend likes to try lots of different foods, so we are quite awkward really!

We dont have any kids and price isnt too important.

Also any must try desserts? for someone with a very sweet tooth!:jump:

Thanks!

Sarah.

Bahama Breeze ( big favourite !!)

Race Rock

Bennigans ( the one near sea world )

Chilis ( Fantastic food and a cheap price )

Don Pablos ( Mexican and very rustic )

TGI Fridays

Pastamore and Margaretaville ( at City Walk )

Sweet Tomatoes ( best value meal I've had in Florida )

The list is endless I could certainly eat on idrive for 14 nights !! - and theres plenty of choice - the only places I've eaten that I haven't been too keen on are the cheap buffet meals

Maybe not your kind of thing but Johnny Rockets is good ,

50's style diner serves usual american fast food and shakes but the mangement and staff usually put a good show of dancing and singing along to the tunes that are playing.

Is that the one in Pointe Orlando? Every time i go past i say i'm gonna visit, but i never do!

Me and my friends really like Olive Garden, great italian food, massive portions!

Bahama Breeze is great for cocktails, being half Jamaican i don't find the food very authentic carribean though! But it is nice.

Dennys is great for breakfast, and their Oreos cake is to die for... love it! If i could bring it back to the UK i would! :jump:

NYPD Pizza in downtown Orlando, Orange Ave.

Happy eating! :D

Sweet Tomatoes is a must. Nothing flash at all but a welcome respite from the deep fried fare available almost everywhere else.

(Hey - I love fries and onion rings too - but it's nice to escape it once in a while!)

Yes it is. Just park up and go in, you can't miss it. The food is absolutely superb and it has a lovely atmosphere. Try to get a booth if you can. They come and show you all the cuts of meat and describe them to you. I like my steaks well done and this was the only time in my life I have had a well done steak that was so tender. BF likes his medium rare and he said that was perfect too. Can't wait to go back next year :)

Johnny Rockets sounds fun.
How about for 14 year old boys or would they find it too 'embarassing'?

Do NOT miss Golden Corrale. It is amazing, huge selection, so delicious and a good price. it has pizza, chilli, hot pot, burgers, salads, soups, roast dinner.....and its the only place we've found which has steak on the buffet! and the selection of cakes is just irresistable!

My top ones would have to be:

Race Rock - Amazing setting and great food
Pizza Hut - for the breadsticks!
Sweet Tomatoes - Chance for a healthy, yummy buffet!
Golden Corral - Lots of choice if you just want an all you can eat

The best meal of our entire holiday was at Uno Chicargo Grill on I Drive.

:D :D :D

Fantastic steak. Great individual pizza for the kids. Superb Shrimp pasta.

:tounge: :tounge: :tounge:

My mouth is watering.

and if you have a sweet tooth - we shared these between 4 of us and still couldn't finish it:

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup
Brownie Bowl

WOW is all I can say

:wink

It is right opposite Ripley's which is good for a couple of hours before hand if you have teenagers. It may be lost on younger kids.

A word of warning. Keep away from Wild Jack's Steakhouse.

Wow!

Many Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to reply.

Some great suggestions, I think we will be spoilt for choice!

There seems to be some very popular choices, which I think we will stick to for our 1st trip.

Cant wait to go now!

Thanks Again:spin:

Does anybody know what kind of price you would pay for a meal (steak) at 'The Butchers Shop Steakhouse?'

We remember walking past this last September and it smelt gorgeous. It sounds like it takes as good as it smells!!

My DH said he had the best steak ever in The Butchers Shop and he's had a few in his time. Praise indeed.

I can't remember how much we paid off the top of my head. I seem to remember for the two of us for steak, jacket potatoes, a side of mushrooms and a couple of cokes it came to about $60, but i'm not entirely sure. I'll direct my bf to this question when he comes online cos he might be able to remember.

I think it was more like about $80/$90. But was totally worth it. Their Porterhouse steak is possibly the finest steak I have ever tasted! :D

the butchers shop prices

met a couple who ate there, xmas 04, (2ad, 1ch) -steaks, desserts and 1 glass of wine each. they paid $170, don't know if this included service charge/tip
we have had great steaks at le cellier, epcot and quite reasonable. we like them well done and they were very tender.
had excellent steak at ronnies steakhouse (i-drive but now closed) very expensive but was wedding anniversary. the butchers shop seems to be the next best thing to ronnies. we have stopped there a couple of times (still in shorts and t's) and hadn't the courage to go in as it is very upmarket. not sure if they have a "dress code" but i wouldn't feel comfortable going in unless well dressed - sometimes it is just too warm to get dressed up iykwim.

We weren't really dressed up when we went. Smart jeans and t-shirts. There were people in there in just shorts so no dress code.

MartinS,

You are not in a minority of 1, we also like Wild Jacks and make a point of visiting on every trip.

Bahama Breeze is our favourite. It`s really lovely and we always visit there at least twice. The roasted cuban bread, beef kebobs (same as kebabs) and key lime pie are seriously scrummy. We always have lemon breeze`s to drink, but I also have a cocktail. ;-)
