Hi,

We are planning on going back to Disney at the very end of June next year and would love to try a villa this time.

Thinking of booking one on our own rather thna as part of a package.

Any suggestions on what would be the best time to book a villa for this time. Do the prices come down nearer the time? Would availability for this time go quite quickly?

Can anyone give me recommendations for agencies or owners that they have used?

Much appreciated

We are not allowed to post companys details on here but I will PM the Rental Company that I use.

You could also try the villas from Dibbers.

Thanks - that would be great - there are so many out there I would prefer to use one that someone else can recommend.

If you find a home that suits your budget book it -leaving things until the last minute may get you a bargain but maybe not in the home you want .

Many villa owners are finding it difficult to fill their homes and this year is reported to be one of the poorest for bookings.
Next year thanks to the construction industry there will be lots more homes.
If you have a look at the special offers being given on last minute villa bookings now just think what they are likely to be next year.

We always leave things to the last minute but appreciate its not always suitable for all people.

I think it depends on your requirements as to how late you can leave it. I booked our villa for next year in April this year because we needed to accomodate 2 families and we wanted 2 similar sized master bedrooms, a further ensuite bedroom and 2 twin rooms, a pool with a lake view, a games room and an internet PC. I just know I wouldn't have been able to get all this at the last minute! But if your needs are more fleible then there are always last minute bargains to be had. Most villa owners seem to prefer to have them filled than not.

Some owners do offer special deals it is just a case of looking around. The more facilities you are after the search is narrowed and you may find the villas booked up way in advance.

It is a similar situation to booking last minute package holidays at the travel agent. If you want certain facilities or location, its best to book ahead, as the popular villas are booked often over a year in advance. I have 3 weeks already for 2007. You can then correspond with the owner who may be able to advise on competitive rates for flights/car hire & theme park tickets.

As these trips are holidays of a lifetime you wouldn't want to risk getting a last minute deal, only to be disappointed in the home.

There are many hundreds of villas to rent.I think even the most picky of people could get fixed up at short notice.

Holidays of a lifetime? Don't think so.

They used to be. Now its just another place to visit and to make sure you get value for money.

I beg to differ Lizzy. For some people a trip to Florida absolutely is A holiday of a lifetime, and during peak school holidays then the better villas will have been snapped up early, or there will be locations further away from their preferred area.

Each person has to weigh up what is right for them and their family's needs best, but I think you cannot dismiss the point DLacey makes.

Yes but Val the original question was from someone planning to go back to Disney so its not a holiday of a lifetime matter.:D :D

Florida is reliant on returning customers who make up the bulk of the visitors.

Anyway all this talking about it is making me think its time we went back and we have only been home for five weeks.

Fair point but what is not mentioned by the OP is whether this is their first villa holiday...... which if it is would bring it's own concerns, just like a first timers concerns.

Anyway back 5 weeks??? What's taking you so long girl.... get it booked....LOL

I booked mine for October last year and got a really good deal for booking early. I have lots of criteria and even booking last year lots were already booked for part of the time I wanted so unavailable..

In fact lots of them were unavailable even back then. But with wanting 23 nights it only takes a week booking to mess us up.

I like a pool and jacuzzi, a covered area incase it rains. I like southish facing as I go in October/Nov (doesnt matter in summer) I dont like to back right onto another pool. I like a bit of a view infact. I rule out certain locations. We also needed a minimum of 4 bedrooms and due to booking so early we got a 5 bedroomed for the price of a four with pool heating thrown in :D

So I personally book my accommodation befor my flights. As soon as I plan to go again I start looking.

As said above if you are not fussy then you will get a cheap deal last minute.

We've also got a good deal by booking early ( 5 beds for the price of 3 :D )

Because I know where I like to stay (or where I don't want to stay!) and am restricted to pretty inflexible dates I prefer to have the villa of my choice in the location of my choice at a price I am happy paying :)
