Its our first Wedding Anniversary in September and we have decided to have a couple of nights away without the kids:wink

We quite fancy Jersey and would like to stay somewhere thats not too posh! But we want something nice! We like nice food and I quite like the idea of romantic walks but hubby may have something to say about walking anywhere!

We want to fly if possible and hubby seems to think we will need a car while we are there.

So has anyone been to Jersey before? Any advice or hints or tips would be most welcome - thanks in advance.

We have stayed at the Cheval Roc hotel at Bonne Nuit Bay on the north coast, it was a lovely location and hotel was excellent. (It was a few years ago now so things may have changed) Jersey is a beautiful island and standards seemed to be generally very high, lovely choice for a romantic break. I would think a car is needed if you want to see all the island has to offer.

Oh Jersey is so lovely. We stayed round St Helier but hired a car just for 2 days so we could get out and about. We actually stayed with a friend so cant recommend anywhere for you to stay but there were lots of hotels and B+B`s scattered around.

We found eating out in pubs was very reasonable. We were there in September (cant remember which year!!") and the weather was beautiful.

Also saved a bundle on buying myself a new watch!

We went to Jersey a few years back and we thought there would be nothing to do, how wrong could i be! it was a fantastic place brimming with everything. We found that we didn't have enough time to do everything, its a fantastic place to go! It was very easy to get around in the car as well.

We used Premier Holidays and they were excellent. http://www.premierholidays.co.uk/. I think we paid £1800 for the 4 of us for a week staying at the Merton flying with British European from Exeter with a Ford Fiesta hire car.

There are hotels for all budgets, I live in Jersey so if you want to run anything past me feel welcome, you don't necessarily have to hire a car, the bus service is ok on summer schedule and you could always hire a tandem that would be romantic

Thanks for your replies.

loadsafairydust - I will do a search and have a little look at the hotel - thanks for the rec.

flikflak - We have looked at a couple of hotels in St. Helier- It looks like it has a lot to offer.

mac - My Mum said she was sure she saw an offer in a paper recently - will have a look this weekend - Thanks.

DAN - I was worried there would not be a lot to do but my friend has said we will have to go back because we wont get everything done. Will have a look at the Premier site - Thanks.

James - Oh let me think - Haywain or Jersey! Have you eaten at the Haywain recently James? We have been there a couple of times in the past month or 2 and the food has got a lot better. Still think Jersey is the way to go though!:wink

joanne & mac - I might PM you with a few questions once we decide on a few places to get your opinions.

I have PM'd Val to see if she can come up with anything for us.

Thanks again everyone. x
