View Full Version : Just back from DLP - if you have any q's just ask.
Hello again Dibbers
Just returned from a wonderful but exhausting DLP trip.
Had a really fab time, stayed at the Santa Fe (cheap and kinda cheerful!). We were really surprised that even though the park looked busy, the wait time for rides were very reasonable - max 20 mins or less, (except FastPass rides which were 30-45 mins). Phantom Manor and Pirates were walk-ons later in the day!
Used FastPass with no probs and just about did everything we wanted to. Park hours at the moment are 09h00 until 11h00. Wishes starts at 11h15 - not to be missed. Main Parade (at MK) was lovely and started at 19h00 - and there was another Fatillusion parade at 10h30 each night.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I will try and do a short trippie when I can. Just off to soak my aching feet !
Lou
:wink
Did you do any character meals? What would you recommend?
How was the weather?
we are heading out there really soon!
Hello BevS97
We did a character afternoon buffet tea which was great. We made a reservation at the Plaza Gardens - situated just to the right of the Central Plaza (top of Main St). Made the res on the Thurs pm for the Sat pm. If you decide to go, please make a res as we saw loads of unhappy people being turned away.
On offer is a buffet tea - but it is cakes and sweets only - a bit like a birthday party tea. Nice if you have a sweet tooth and the kids were loving it. One price for all 13Euro each - adults and kids. They also do a 'birthday buffet' and I think it costs a little more, (same sweet stuff on offer) but I did see that you got a birthday cake and the characters and CM's came and sang happy birthday.
Reservations are for 3:00pm or 4:30pm. You turn up, pay and are shown to your table. You get a tray and then help yourself to the cake-fest.
The characters come out and visit each table - we saw Chip N' Dale, Donald and Daisy some villains the Lion from Robin Hood film (sorry can't remember his name!).
You can also just approach the characters for photos and there was an official photographer there.
The characters came out in dribs and drabs and in all the greetings took around an hour.
We had good fun - the cakes were a bit sickly after a while, but we thought 13E each was good value and a good way to meet characters.
Cafe Mickey at the Disney Village also host character meals (we didn't go there, but the leaflet says "step inside Cafe Mickey, a star hangout where Mickey, Goofey, Pluto and the rest of the gang are on scene to stir up some culinary fun".
Weather - similar to the UK, sun and clouds, not too warm though about 25degrees. One afternoon it rained, but cleared up later.
If you go to Google and type Marne le Vallee weather - you can check the upcoming weather.
We found the park to be quieter than expected - it looks busy, but the ride queues were really quite quick.
Hope you have a great time -
Lou

Welcome back Lou. Sounds like you had a great time:D
I must cost it up for us as I need a Disney fix.
I booked everything via the Eurostar site.
For x2 adults x 1 child - it was £652.00 Included Train, hotel and park tickets.
This was for 2nights 3 days - peak season. Not too bad, but probably a lot cheaper out of peak time.
Anne - definitely a great Disney fix - just want to go back to Orlando now!
Only went to DLP as I pouted and sulked until hubby gave in :)
Ohh off for a look Lou. Thanks.

Sounds as though you had a great time Lou...where did you eat?
Anne.....we have booked Easyjet flights for £250 for all 4 of us and hotel for £70 per night ( 5 nights = £350) which is £600 for 5 nights for 4 people. However we have still got to get passes, but all in all it should work out at about £200 per person. We are now debating annual passes.
Sarah, they're good prices. Off to look at Easyjet.
Hi TA
I did think of you in PoTC - the boat stopped and I was nearly off to grab your costumes, but it was at the bit where the skeleton Pirate is sat on his haul of treasure and he didn't seem to have much on :) :)
First day we ate in Frontierland in the restaurant that looks like a big barn - all decked out with cowboy stuff. Can't remember the name. There were burgers, ribs and chicken on offer. It was ok - we had lunch at 3pm and so anything would have tasted good by then!
For light bites we stopped off at Casey's Corner, McDonalds and the bakery which runs through the arcade where they did baguettes and cakes. We also ate at the Old Mill in Fantasyland - again baguettes.
Our best meal was in the Blue Lagoon which is inside PoTC ride!! We really loved it and the set menus started from E22 to E39. Kids menu was E10 and teenagers menu E15. We had shrimp cocktail, brought out in coconut shells and DH had swordfish and tuna fricasee and I had chicken curry - followed by yummy puds of creme brulee and some lovely pineapple confection. DS had a burger (what else!!!) and then the 'chef's surprise' - I won't tell you what that was just in case you go in October. He loved it . We waved to every boat that came by - we were the only ones in the restaurant that did until a little Spanish boy of about 4 joined in (sweet). Most boats waved and shouted back - all good fun!
On our last day we booked a character buffet tea at the Plaza Gardens restaurant. E13 for adults and kids. This was like a giant tea party with the characters - all cakes, biccies and sweets. Luvverly.
Had a brilliant time - better than I had hoped. Wait times were much quicker than I expected. Did Pirates 5 times!!!
Not long and you'll be there....

LOu...it sounds brilliant! I am gutted about the pirate costume though!
I think I fancy the Blue Lagoon restaurant for one of our days...what was the curry like......did it have any tomato in it (I can't eat tomato...strange woman!). We will also eat at Annettes because it's a good atmosphere. I also like the western place where they do the line dancing, but have never eaten there!
I am getting really excited about it at the moment...just about to bid on a "pirate" skirt on Ebay!

............which I didn't win! Typical, things just seem to go beyond my intended budget!
Oh shame about the skirt - hope you find something soon.
The Blue Lagoon was lovely and the curry didn't have any tomato in it. It was quite mild and not too spicy. The sauce was a bit creamy with cocunut pieces and the chicken was really nice and lots of it!
Never eaten at Annettes or been to the line-dancing place - will add those to the visit list for next time :)
Is it posible to meet Rabbit, and Kanga, at Disney land Paris, as I,ve met Pooh,Piglet,Eeyore and Tigger?.
I,ve seen a list of where to see the characters at Disney World,is there a list of where to see the characters at Disney Land Paris?.

Hi Jeremy
Sorry for my slow reply.
The park map lists daily times and places where you can 'meet and greet' characters. However, I never saw Rabbit and/or Kanga on our visit :( The lines do build up, so get there early.
I will try and see if I can find some info for you later on.

Unfortunatelly it doesn't list Rabbit or Kanga -
Looks like a big list of characters though

Hi Lou, we go on Monday, and and we're staying at the Santa Fe too. Can you tell me how bad breakfast there really was. I've heard such bad reports that it was a free for all! Also, did you ever try the Wild Bills Dinner Show, we have that booked and are really looking forward to it. I'm desperate for a Disney fix! :jump:
Annettes diner is fab, my kids love it there. It has a great atmosphere. The wild bill show is really good, meal included which is nice.
Character meet details are on your map. We also did plutos birthday party at plaza gardens and it was fab. All the puddings you can think of and you can go up as may times as you like.
We actually think the pirates of the caribean ride, space mountain and haunted house are better there than florida.

Hi Jeremy
Very late on the reply and sorry also to JessD who will have been and gone by now!
Each hotel has an assigned character - the Santa Fe had Pluto and he was there during the morning - the times are listed - and he was also greeting guest in the afternoon. When we stayed at the Cheyenne, Minnie was the resident character.
However, if you want to see more varied characters, I would suggest booking a character meal - see my report above.
Hope this helps?
