Hi

Has any one been to this resort?

We have booked up a fortnight at Easter 06 but having just returned from a fab holiday in Orlando and Captiva we are a little concerned about the negative reviews that we have read on TripAdvisor (mostly by New Yorkers!!)

Any info would be appreciated.

Kind regards

I'm very jealous. it is on my list of places to visit, it looks stunning. Can't say i've read any of the trip advisors reports though :(

Turks is fantastic. Beautiful beaches - hire a jeep to get about as roads are very bad - you will find beaches where you will be the only people. Never been to any Beaches resort so cannot comment on them.

Cool we have been looking at BTC too. We will probably go for the cheaper option of Beaches Boscobel in Jamaica instead. Regarding to poor Tripadvisor reviews, check out the Tripadvisor ones for Beaches Boscobel too - similarly slated by some US visitors HOWEVER there are subsequent positive reviews by US and UK visitors wondering what the others were on - I suspect the same is true of the BTC negative reviews.

Who did you book your hol through?

(DW is desperate to go to Beaches because of the excleent childcare - pre-kids we went to Sandals Antigua, and it was truly excellent.)

Thanks for your comments.

Booked through Thomas Cook Signature as they have been fab on the last two major jaunts across the atlantic.

Just been talking to some friends who have been to Atlantis Paradise Island which has similar neg reviews and they loved it. I am starting to think that it may be our US neighbours 1. Complain more. 2. Praise less. 3. Expect NY 5 Star standards in the Carib which they wont get without spending an absolute fortune.

Kids 10 and 7 can't wait and I only hope it lives up to expectations as the holiday is supposed to be a chill out on the beach for all

Cheers

We booked Sandals in St Lucia through Signatures it was fantastic and there were a coupel from new york complaining that their luxury suite was too far away from the main pools and restrant area. HELLO it was more exclusive and had its own conciege service..
so they asked to be moved to the main complex I think they got a normal room or a smaller suite less expensive . They were more happier with that so I think its just New yorkers are more demanding and fussy.
Very jelous let us know what beaches is like as would like to take my 2 daughters there.

Guess it is the US guests

I have spoken to a few people over the last day or so who have seen similar negative reviews on hotels/resorts that they rave about and I trust their judgement far more than TripAdvisor reviewers.

So back to looking forward to it and feeling even more grateful as the BA flights were fully booked and we are going AA.

Cheers

Trip Advisor reports by Americans are notoriously bad. Take them with a pinch of salt.
Go with your own instincts, they're usually right.

Sounds like a great holiday to me.:D
